It is part of it.
Flames are shooting 8.8% as a team this year, we shot 9.6% as a team last season.
We are actually 7th in the NHL with 1460 shots on goal right now, last year we finished 20th in the league.
That 0.8% shooting percentage difference means a difference of 12 goals already so far this season.
Those 12 goals would move us from 19th in goals for, to 9th in goals for. Which is pretty much identical to where we finished as a team last season.
