What ever happened to the drop pass? For a couple years it was this core's bread and butter but I haven't seen it all this year with the exception of a Tkachuk/Hamilton connection. Are players explicitly instructed not to drop pass?

I kind of want the Leafs to keep scoring. Need another blowout so this team makes some changes.
What kind of changes are you hoping for? Serious question? I'm seeing all sort of blow it up comments around here (not from you necissarily).
Blow it up to me means we want to tear down the core. Are we done with this very young core because in late Jan they aren't a lock for the playoffs and are struggling now fir what is going on 3 weeks? Maybe we are?
Why did Flames have become so easy to play against? Where's anger and pride? Looks like they just gave up the season.

Leafs don't even have to make an effort now. Flames just skating around pretending to show intensity. Just imagine what will happen tomorrow night against Carey Price.
Okay just a thought and maybe a dumb one, but in running it by you guys anyways. What if we don't have push back after the hit because Gulutzan is telling them not too ? I mean Gully never shows emotion, he sits players for taking penalties, doesn't get emotion out of his team. Maybe he's on the bench telling his guys not to push back and end up in the box ?
Am I crazy ?

The whole hockey club isn't run based on what you would rather watch. You want kylington and Jankowski to be here ? You think it's a good way to develop them?
People on here are so unbelievable.
Maybe this is why most Canadian teams suck. They aren't allowed to suck. Every 2 seasons there is pressure to squeeze into the playoffs via wildcard spot and lose in the first round just because people have no patience and want to be entertained so badly.
Maybe we should be mad at the management who put this team on the ice. Who hired GG. Who signed Gio for the most part of the next decade. Who handed Brouwer his contract. Didn't trade Wideman 2 years ago. Etc etc.
What do you guys expect. We have a top 6 forward who couldn't earn a contract with the oilers this off season. We have a right winger who was booed out of Ottawa.
I think whoever was deluded enough to think this team had aNY business in a playoff race deserves to be let down.
On another note...we can't just go break someone's neck everytime Johnny gets a wacky. Teams are trying to provoke us. Plus who is our enforcer? We have Engelland and nobody else who plays that role. It's not 1980 either. Maybe this is the downside of having a 5 foot 150 lb superstar cornerstone of our franchise. Even Crosby can defend himself and hack back or even drop the gloves if he needs to. Johnny needs to be protected and we have nobody to do that for him. Our team doesn't have that identity. Maybe if he played on Edmonton he would be protected
I agree with everything you said and I don't think I said I wanted the Flames to make the playoffs just to get crushed in the first round, I said I want to see the young guys come up and see what they got. 10 games wouldn't destroy any players development and if it does the player probably wasn't good enough to begin with. I do not want to see this team in the playoffs, they will get curb stomped
