Damn, Gulutzan has two more years after this year.
No way he lasts the year if this keeps up. The last couple games are the kind of games that make more casual fans walk away from the team. Getting beat badly and owned physically by Canadian rivals with a lot of people watching.

Speaking of the young guns era, it's funny how many people rag on old teams and that most anyone over 30 is not worth investing in because it's a young man's game. But in the last 15 years, the only successful Flames teams I can really remember are the Conroy/Lowry/Iginla team of 04, and the Conroy/Amonte/Nolan/Bertuzzi/Iginla era of 2007-2009.

There's a lot I'll forgive when it comes to a team simply not being good enough to win... but our inability to stand up for each other is baffling to me.
Gaudreau gets a huge headshot and you wouldn't have any idea based on the rest of the period. Gio at least came in to fight, but a team that cares for one another will respond on the ice and get pissed. Make it hell out there for the other team.
Can you imagine how Edmonton would respond this season if McDavid was the recipient of that headshot? Maroon, Kassian, and Lucic would actually respond... and I hate all 3 of those players. But they would defend their star player FFS.
I recall and interview with Conroy one time when Ben Hanowski was left sitting alone in the Flames Cafeteria, Conroy was livid that the players were not making sure he was being included. I don't recall Gaudreau being treated like this last season but ever since he signed his contract he seems like he is on an island on his own taking shot after shot and being pushed around and that's just not acceptable.
Are the guys pissed off about Gaudreau's contract, or is it something else?
I think back to when Laine got laid out and remember the Jets reaction then I watch this and can't help but think there is some fundamental problems in the dressing room.
Surprised that most of the hockey world is calling it a clean hit.
The league took a big step backwards once Shanahan left. So many dirty incidents go unnoticed now.
Was a hit directly to the head.
I don't think there was any intent to hit him the head head but the fact of the matter is it was a head shot. Big guy hitting little guy isn't a factor. Gotta be aware of who you're hitting.
Don't forget everyone in the media will side with the Leafs.

Looked like a clean hit through the body but on the second shot its shoulder straight to the head. With the height difference I don't know what they're going to think though.
Would way rather watch some of the Stockton boys then ####ing Chiasson, Bouma, Wideman, Engelland (yes he isn't very good and very overpaid but I will be bashed for this) I would so much rather watch rookies mess up then seeing players I've seen forever continue to be bleh like usual.

If so, I hope he took over the dressing room himself. I hope watching those little Princesses tip-toe around the ice after the Johnny hit cranked him to 11 and he pushed off the coach.

I've been a fan for decades and it is making me wonder if I should watch this uninspired bull####. Their millionaire players can't be ####ing bothered to actually play the game they are getting wealthy off of?
