Again it's not the losses that annoy me, it's the complete lack of passion and engagement. They look totally checked out.

If I was Treliving, I'd fire Gulatzan right now and replace him with a pylon for the third period. That's how little I give a #### about the optics of canning a coach halfway through his first season.

I think back to when Laine got laid out and remember the Jets reaction then I watch this and can't help but think there is some fundamental problems in the dressing room.

Agreed, but the way the game has been turned over to the figure skaters you know you aren't getting any calls. Players like Bouma, F. Hamilton and others of their ilk need to just run somebody, piss on the consequences. Johnny needs to start slashing people back instantly, sure the Flames will get more penalties but send your own statement to the league about ####ty reffing.

While you're not wrong, I do find it funny that a team with proven playoff performers and winners like Brouwer, Versteeg, Frolik and Elliott are getting completely schooled by a team with how many rookies?

Yes our best players are under 25, but so are the Leafs best players and they are running us out of the building right now.

Put me in the "I know we're not contenders but we look like a bunch of wobbly legged deer getting railed by an angry bison" camp. So little fight.

I didn't like Gulutzan, because a lot of his line combos make little sense and should obviously be changed (Chiasson, Bennett at center, Brodie on the left).

But now it's obvious that he can't motivate or energize a team. That's even worse IMO

Losing is one thing, getting disrespected is another.

You know, the young guns era was terrible... they lost a lot. But nobody, nobody pulled crap like Gaudreau has had to endure on that team. Simpson, Wiemer, Berube, Hulse etc would have chased Komarov down the second he came out of the box. I enjoyed watching that team more a lot of the time.

Good on Gio for standing up. And I don't blame most of the rest of them, as you can't expect Backlund or Stajan to go try and send a message, there is no point in them getting their head kicked in. But this team is built poorly. How do you have a team with so many young skill guys and almost zero toughness. With Burke's cheezy soundbites every few months no less.

Frankly we shouldn't expect this team to be great, but I would expect us to act like a team out there.

Losing isn't the problem. It is how you lose.

I thought that might have been a "clean" hit, though the type of hit that can really injure someone. Too bad it happened to Johnny, he did have his head down.

Toronto media are ridiculous.
Principle point of contact was the head. It doesn't matter if there's a height difference.
Apparently if it's a north-south hit, anything goes though!

How about you let Burke deal with his father passing away last week, and maybe get some of the prima donna's on the bench to actually fight back.

Elliot has turned in to Hiller and Johnson has turned in to Ramo.

The Flames offence has turned in to the Flames offence.

That's pretty much all there is to say.
