Can't believe people try to take shots at Bennett with every opportunity.

Alot of them have the nerve too to say the Flames are overachieving this season. Hello pot, this is kettle.

Well this was the worst possible Out of Town score board we could have hoped for...

Silver lining on McDavid: Yes the Oilers are obviously much improved with him but one player can't win championships. If anything, he's masking the laughable incompetence of a terrible management team that has put on what must be one of the saddest attempts at team building in NHL history. Just look at that Lucic contract. More of that in store I'm sure. With any hope, they bungle this as bad as they've bungled everything with that team.

56 games for Detroit without a road pp goal before tonight and Nyqvist snapped a 26 game goalless drought

Is this true?! That can't be real, can it? That's just terrible.
Red Wings no longer have the luxury of letting their prospects gain experience in the AHL. They're going to be hitting a rough patch in the next 5 years unless they make some drastic moves.

Just checked and it's not true. They have three all season on the road which is still really bad.

The Oilers have received a very generous scheduled this season and appear to get the better of a lot of officiating also.
If one was a conspiracy theorist, one might think the league is desperate not to see another Oilers lucky lottery. I wonder if anything will change once (if) the Oilers are safely out of lottery range.

When did Draisaitl get traded to Pittsburgh?

Crosby may be a better overall player but McDavid barring injury is probably going to lead the NHL in scoring most seasons from now on in. Anyone that plays on his line is guaranteed to have their stats majorly inflated like say Kunitz has for his career playing with Crosby.
Bennett plays on a line with one of the most ineffective offensive players in the league in Ferland who has 11 goals and 23 assists in 141 NHL games. Seriously switch things around and I'm not even sure Draisaitl matches Bennett's numbers with the Flames as he gets no complementary offensive help. Also lets not forget Draisaitl was picked by the Oilers because he was physically mature and most NHL ready player in the draft. He's probably as good now as he's ever going to be whereas Bennett isn't close to his ultimate potential.

This has been the case since Sam Bennett into the leaueg with the Flames, if this happens next, Sam should just say screw you, I am going somewhere, I will have talent to play with.

Well the problem is that the Flames as an organization lack talent on the wings. Alex Chiasson wasn't even good enough to play on the Senators 4th line yet he's been Johnny's opposite winger for a large part of the year. That's not great either. Do you expect Johnny to pick up his bags and leave because he's saddled with a Senators reject? It is what it is and it's what happens when you miss on draft picks like Poirier as the Flames have to overpay average players like Brouwer to fill those slots or trade for waiver wire guys like Chiasson. Tkachuk is a good start but it's been pretty evident this season that this roster is still work in progress and not close to being a contender.

You are right lack of talent on the wings, hopefully the Flames take a flyer on players like Ryan Strome or Nail Yakupov(or other players like these) they may come cheap and may turn into something good.

But but, Oiler fans are convinced that we have the softer schedule and see more backups because all the teams in the NHL fear the Oiler's offensive prowess.

The Flames have seen more backups. That's been proven without a doubt.
There is no convincing required.

It is funny to hear Oilers fans complain about other teams facing backup goalies when this has been an Oilers tradition for a decade.

Apparently, Price insisted he stayed in the game to start the 3rd period. Said something to the effect that no one else gets to hide from that kind of beating, and he's just part of the team, so why should he be different.
Second time this season Habs have been flat out crushed.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Pretty stand up thing for Price to do considering Montoya wasn't pulled during the 10 goal game against Columbus. Good on him.
