Good, hopefully he keeps pushing up his contract value.

Its not even about points or productivity. Draisaitly's hockey IQ is far superior to Bennett's. He protects the puck well, uses his speed when necessary, dictates the pace of the game and has incredible hands. Obviously still time for Bennett to round out his game, but at this point its not even close.

That's fair but even on his own Draisaitl is a much better player then Bennett at the moment. The story is far from over though. Draisaitl is almost a full year older, Bennett was one of the youngest players drafted in 2014, Draisaitl one of the oldest. Sam is a year behind in development.

From another NHL team? No. But the Oilers are probably already drawing up the contract.

Well that's about the worst OOT I've seen in while. Flames better make this weekend count.

All that said, I remember there were rumors that Hudler wanted to play with Bennett last year, saying something to the effect that he was the MOST talented player on the flames roster. And there further rumors that Hartley's decision on Bennett's on-ice utilization was a factor is his demise.
Perhaps its a case of Bennett having to pack on another 10-20lbs. He's only 185lbs...pretty small for the game he plays

Backlund just came into his own at 26-27. Can we give our fruit a chance to ripen before pulling out a ruler at every instance?
And I don't know why people do so to begin with. Flames drafted 4th anyways, so it was what it was. Should they apologize for not sucking more? Lol c'mon. Samwise will find his way, but it's gonna take patience.
If you need to help yourself sleep at night, look no further than #19.

Don't forget Bennett lost almost a full year of development, and Draisaitl is almost a full year older than Bennett. Draisaitl should be ahead of him right now, and the fact that he is shouldn't make anyone angry. It's not like Bennett isn't a good player, he's just behind in his development which isn't out of the ordinary.

That is on the Flames to get good players for their young player to play with, the Flames have done a horrible job developing Sam Bennett.

So Calgary should lose more to have a chance at a McDavid to play Bennett with? That's for losers.

Sam Bennett matched Sean Monahan's rookie season output in his own first full NHL season. He is still only 20-years-old; he has and will be just fine.

That's the team. I'm talking about the fans. The entitled, wrongheaded fans. The fans who now think they built a winning team (by failing and lucking out). A lottery ball got the team where it is and it's still a bad team. Without that lottery ball, they'd be a lottery favourite this year.
