So here's some terrible news for the Trump administration: Fahrenthold has been re-assigned to covering conflicts of interest and the emoluments clause, after initially being put on the agriculture/department of labour/USDA beat. Not sure why WaPo didn't have him on the shadier Trump stuff to begin with, but if covering conflicts and emoluments goes as well as the Trump Foundation, Trump might be impeached by Memorial Day.

DeVos's confirmation hearing has been pushed back to the 17th to let the Office of Government Ethics complete its ethics check, which is good. Doesn't make sense to hold a hearing before all the relevant information is available. The nonpartisan OGE has expressed concern over the schedule so this is good.
EDIT: Pompeo was delayed a few days as well.

^^I mean that is obviously the dream GOP endgame here. First chance they get to remove Trump, so long as the poll numbers show him doing poorly, and he's out. As I suggested before, if they play their cards right they'll be "heroes and patriots" for removing him.

Although a Tea Party administration might be worth cutting out the obvious Russian influence. Granted it's easy for me to say that since I'm not a woman. Or a minority.
... or American.

The US already has a higher per capita governmental spend on socialised medicine than any country not named switzerland that has universal healthcare. If you add in the private money people spend on top of that it dwarfs the per capita money in the system of every country. It has nothing to do with defense spending or allocating money to other causes. The money is already there if they cared to do away with the profit margins and insurance lobby. But they don't.

You act as though it will be bad for all of those people.
Didn't Trump say he wanted to make America Gay Again?

As despicable as Pence's social policies may be...I would consider him an order of magnitude more rational and professional. Better the devil you know....

Trump meets with anti-vaxxer Robert F Kennedy Jr.
----
Spotify has a very specific job offering: https://www.spotify.com/us/jobs/view/o0CA4fw0/
Spotify is growing globally, and we are now looking for a President of Playlists. In this position you will be overseeing our music curation and playlists team, across offices around the world.
Spotify started in Sweden in 2006, but we’re now in over 60 countries and counting. As an organization, we are full of hope, and always open to change.
What you’ll do:
- Provide world-class leadership to our playlist editors and supporting staff.
- Identify and substantiate new playlist ideas, e.g. from a playlist for shooting hoops with your friends, to the perfect warm up playlist for addressing the nation about health care legislation that bears your name.
Analyze data and performance of playlists in a clear and transparent manner using all available intelligence. Attend daily briefings.
- Celebrate our diversity of playlists, from Viva Latino (3.4 million followers) to Rap Caviar (5.3 million followers).
----
Far-right blogger Chuck C. Johnson is reportedly helping pick members of President-elect Donald Trump’s administration. According to Forbes, multiple anonymous sources say Johnson is working with Trump transition team members — including Facebook board member and de facto Silicon Valley ambassador Peter Thiel — to help suggest and vet candidates. If correct, Johnson’s involvement may be a sign that the Trump team hasn’t distanced itself completely from its far-right, white nationalist fans, with whom Johnson is aligned.

So if you ever wondered what a trainwreck American poltics is and why we follow it, consider that Sen. Mike Crapo (yes, crap is in his name) just used his time allocated to question Jeff Sessions to discussing....the plot of the movie Minority Report. Yeah....

Al Franken grills Sessions pretty succinctly on his misrepresentation about his fabricated pro-civil rights record.

Won't make a lick of difference, but heartening to see regardless.

And actually he didn't just meet him....RFK Jr. will be heading a committee on vaccination safety. Canada might need to start thinking of it's own wall, not for immigration reasons, but to prevent the spread of the bubonic plague.
