Playgrounds are terrible nowadays, I'm not even allowed within 50ft of one.

I can remeber being 6 and climbing to the top, only to get cold feet and realize I was too scared to climb down. I remember yelling help at the top of my lungs. Of course the 9 year old "watching" me did what any good neighbor kid would...ran.
So there I was all alone stuck thinking my arms would eventually tire and I would fall to my certian death (I was 6). Just started cry and yelling. Luckily there was someone walking nearby who heard my screams. He climbed up grabbed me and took me down.
Didn't think much of it until now, and now that I think about it why would they put a playground in that was way too difficult for young kids? It seemed so high when I was a kid like break neck high.
Would love to have seen if it was really that bad, or I just am remembering through kid eyes.

They are really not. You haven't seen those Christmas tree merry-go-rounds or saucer swings, have you?

A game that it seems like all kids played growing up - was throwing a ball against a wall and if you dropped it trying to catch it off the wall, you had to go to the wall with your bottom facing the other players and the one that threw the ball you dropped would whip it at your bum.
We called it bum's up, but from what I understand it had a different name at every school/community.

There still are some good ones around. Even some, where kids could actually still fall.

My brother and I modified the skis on ours so that it could go forward or backwards, then took the brakes off. Nearly killed myself on it.
