PullyourRV sucks.
Sorry that Laine isn't there to one time your garbage passes into the net or make you look like a star.
Said it at the draft and will say it again. He will be a bust.

You do realize they didn't play on the same team in Finland? Right? I realize this is an Edmonton is no good thread but saying he'll be a bust before the draft or today doesn't mean anything other than you like to make bold predictions based on very little evidence.

You gotta have your major players making big plays on your cup run bro.
Poolparty's gotta go bardownskis.
It shouldnt be glossed over though, this is Edmonton's most successful season in a decade. They've practically won the Cup already.

Yeah but we was ranked top 3 before the WJHC and their rankings were based on European scouting to which they play on opposing teams in Finland. Do you really think the Oilers took him because of his performance at the WJHC alone? It is the Oilers so maybe that's a bad question ha ha ha.

He played in more than one WJHC. And yes I still think he's crap. His international resume playing with Laine is what made people think he was something special.
He doesn't do anything at an elite level. Average shot, average skater, average IQ. And has to develop with the Oilers. Everything adds up to a bust.

Puljujarvi played in the previous WJHC but Laine wasn't on that team.

Both were on the 2016 WJHC played in Russia. Puljujarvi lead the tourament with 17 points, Laine lead in goals. You are thinking of the under 18 played in North Dakota (IIRC) where it was just Puljujarvi.

'Member when we were all pissed because JP dropped to the Oilers and they appeared to be rewarded yet again for failure.
At first I was like:
Now I'm like:
Tkachuk >> Pujiuliarvi.

Puljujarvi played in both the 2015 and 2016 WJHC
Laine only played in the 2016 WJHC

I was so rage-choked, I leapt to my feet and started pacing around angrily.. in an occupied restaurant. That lasted until I heard "Olli" come out of Benning's mouth - hearing him say "from the London Knights" made me die inside a little just a second prior to that.
What a mixed bag of emotions those first few overall picks were.

With all the talk of a three way trade with the Flames moving up to grab Puljujarvi minutes before the draft as well. I was so freaking happy that the Nucks passed on Tkachuk that I didn't even care the Oilers got Puljujarvi

Was there ever confirmation from Treliving that it was Puljujarvi that the Flames were trying to trade up for?

Tre was probably giving Benning too much credit and worried he would take Tkachuk
