Question.

I was unable to watch the game and got back just as Monahan gave us the lead. Looking through the coments I see several positive reviews of Ferland's play yet when I look at the ice time stats I see him as playing the second least of anyone on both teams and he only got that because a late shift put him past Hathaway.

I feel like this has happened several times this year. He plays well but only gets 10-12 minutes. Even in games like this where there is not a lot of special teams play. I don't expect him to get 20 minutes, or even 17-18 but why isn't he getting 12-15 more often.

Can someone who has seen more games than I (only seen 8 games plus parts of 9 more this season) suggest why.

a lot of people, including myself, left this team for dead after that terrible start...

Can't help but be impressed with how hard this team fought and clawed their way back into the playoff race... shows a lot of guts and leadership in that room and with this staff (who were a complete unknown to most of us)

Great roll they are on; Let's keep it going in AZ!

Roger Millions @RogMillions
17 of Sean Monahan's 88 career goals have been Game Winners. 6 SO winners as well. That's clutch. #Flames

Because he's boring and doesn't have a pulse even late in tight games.

He was shaken up at one point when he fell awkwardly, so he might have missed some shifts there.

Plus, he is on the fourth line and every line was going well, so he was never going to get a ton of time.

Did I hear that right? PP is 4 for 10 in the last 4 games. Wowza.

Johnson solid again. Tkachuk is so good with Backs and Frolik -- playing like he's been in the league for five years. Johnny doing Johnny things. Monny with the GWG. Feels good man.

I think Ferland is most effective with the ice time he is getting now. Allows him to be a menace every shift and not wear himself out

2 points behind Edmonton though they have a game in hand. More important to me than a playoff spot at this point of the season is passing them.

That's a good observation. But then again at the most critical time of the game he was on the ice and pressed Dallas hard in their end, and then back in our end smartly flipped the puck out.

So the coach trusts him but doesn't deploy him that much.

The shifts he was on the ice he was very noticeable.

Cross-check to his driver's side ribs by the looks of it.

Was definitely in some discomfort on the bench.
