After all those years debating whether or not this prospect would even turn pro, I'm so happy to finally see him suited up for the Flames. Patience could really pay off with this kid.

isn't it unusual to dress for the pregame skate if you are not playing?

So they intentionally gave him number 77 and practice skated him today at TD in order to troll Bruins fans?

Francis said something like Murray Edwards thought iginla would retire a flame until a week before the deadline that year.
Makes me wonder what hapened internally to get trade talks started. Did Iginla and his agent do the team a solid and let them know they weren't re-signing no matter what?
Did al macneil run screaming into kings office that the teams captain was a few months away from potentially walking for nothing?

Huh? This goes against everything that was said by both sides.

Why would I do that when both sides literally confirmed the Flames approached Jarome and they initiated the trade. Iginla wanted to retire a Flame. There are numerous reports to this so why would I care what Eric Francis who is known to stir the pot says.

How did the Jankowski thread become about Feaster, Weisbrod, O'reilly and the Iginla? Weren't threads about the weather supposed to be taken over by Jankowski talk?
On that note, I'm going to need to get me a Jankowski jersey. No Flame has ever worn my number!

I'd love to see this kid get into the lineup before this road trip ends. Hopefully Gulutzan will give him a shot.

Hartley's problem was his system, while exciting when the team was on offense they were consistently pinned in their own zone. They surprised the league for one year with their stretch pass but once that was figured out they didn't adjust. Flames picked top 6 in 3 of Bob's 4 years which isn't all that surprising as he came in to be the last chance to get Iginla and Kipper to the playoffs.
Feaster's run was littered with mistakes. The Brad Richards 7x7 offer was terrifying as he was that delusional to think a 31 year old center was the missing piece of a Stanley Cup winning team (a team that missed the playoffs 2 years in a row and has 4 1st round exits the years prior)
The RoR offer sheet which has been discussed
The Iginla trade once again made the organization look like a joke. Don't agree to a trade until the player signs the NMC. The Bouwmeester, Tangauy, Regehr, and Smid trades all were horrible.
Going on TV and telling the pundits to "write it down we are making the playoffs" gave media and other fanbases a huge chuckle. Going on Sportsnet 2 days before the trade deadline and threatening to blow the team up to only backtrack and do nothing was also brutal.

You missed when Feaster gave an elderly dman a 6 year contract taking that dman to his 39th birthday after the dman had 2 good seasons. That was by far his worst move and one that will live in infamy as the Flames suffer through that contract in a couple years.
As for Janko, I hope he does well. The Feaster pieces are really starting to pay dividends for the Flames.

That was Treliving, and Gio had more than 2 good seasons?

I actually like the sound of that line. Staj is responsible defensively, and can back up the inevitable mistakes from the rookie. While Bennett and Janko go to work in the ozone.
