I just want the quality of the soundtrack. As far as 8 bit goes, I was always partial to Batman NES.

Can I just state that 90% of the acts that skip Calgary are garbage and the only people upset about it are teenagers? All the best bands don't need the big productions to be entertaining.

I actually like the location but the design is a pile of trash. Two separate buildings please. The arena can go on Stampede park, the stadium can be built in West Village. They would both bookend downtown and provide a nice focal point from their respective sides.

Some of the acts that don't come here, you might not like, which is cool and you're definitely entitled to your opinion. Unfortunately, most of those shows are usually big names, and lots of people actually do like those performers... and as big money making opportunities, those are being lost out on.
Hate the performer, but respect that those performances are good to have here in town for a variety of reasons (including economic (big one here), cultural, etc), which is something we're missing the boat on by having these acts skip out on us.

Was down in LA for vacation and saw the Raptors play the Clippers on Monday, at the Staples Center. Forget CalgaryNext. Forget it right in the A. Just build another Staples Center. It's great, hell damn ass great. Escalators right up to the nosebleeds. Three levels of concourse, each one as good as the first. Plenty of bathrooms. Excellent concessions. Great lines of sight. Just build another.
Forget CalgaryNext. Forget the hell out of it.

The bridge over the road that's been circulating is the proposed LRT bridge from Sunalta over 9th Avenue, BTW.

That's a good point. Why don't they just design these things once, and rebuild the design in several places? It's got to have some money savings. In the end, it's just a big box on the outside. They could change facades and keep a standard inside design.

Bow Trail westbound abuts basically the top of bank in this location, so to build a structure over top any way close to what's rendered, the road would probably have to move a minimum 30 meters south.

I've been to the Staples Center too and my honest opinion is that spending over a billion dollars to get that is simply not worth it. At all.
I recall the line ups as an absolute trainwreck and it took like 30 minutes to get served food or drink. Bathrooms are nicer for sure and sightlines, but something tells me this doesn't need to cost what they're telling us it does.

What event did you attend at Staples? I went to the Stanley Cup Finals a couple years ago when LA won and it was an amazing experience.
I expect it was a capacity event and washrooms were functional as well as vendors. Literally a half century ahead of the Saddledome.
Oh, another side benefit is they have a little city of things to do around the venue. Instead of defunct lounge burger or rip off joint b, you can actually go pre-game and get some decent food and hang out with friends.
I also forgot they built up hotels around the venue, which further lead to small business outlying and kind of a mini revitalization of downtown LA proper. Reclaimed residential units in what was a discarded part of Los Angeles a decade ago.
I especially enjoyed that the LA fans put the Devils playing cards in the urinals.

Honestly, it is a league that is giving away championship game tickets with a pizza order. McMahon seems plenty fine, spend the money elsewhere.

Hahaha now that I see that, it is true. CFL is a TV league now.

Toronto Argonauts slash ticket prices for Grey Cup at BMO Field
Citing slow sales, team is now offering tickets for CFL championship as low as $89, reduced from $169.

.... those are sold. Tickets not sold are $699, and $599 obstructed views. Those I agree have zero demand.

For about 50% of what they were hoping to get for them. Imagine the apocalyptic headlines if Super Bowl tickets had to be marked down 50% to move. People would be writing the NFL's obit.
