FYI the link to the PDF doesn't work, or it's gone (404 error).

Hopefully that works.

I would guess Administration will say this is there in case Plan B is chosen (it was Administration's preference in last report). Notably, nary a mention of West Village - City wants to keep focusing on the east end it seems for now.

That link will expire soon too. All the document links on the city's agenda pages are dynamically generated and are only good for a limited time.

The only thing that seems to work is to link to the links to the documents: http://agendaminutes.calgary.ca/sire...a&itemid=45942

The document in question is the one named: ACTION PLAN MID-CYCLE ADJUSTMENTS, C2016-0863 - Attach 2 -The Citys Capital Investment

I'm not sure why it's set up that way, but it's pretty annoying.

This is the problem I have had with this whole thign all along.
CSEC have been utterly misleading, completely bone headed and very much a joke with how they've released the information and renderings for this project.

There's a media release link that has all the renderings that they presented to council behind doors back in August It finally was made public after they had the meeting and council agreed to keep looking at Plan B and consider the original plan also,
There's so much stuff that they have packed into this that we have no information on.

SOme of the renderings show Bowtrail next to the river as a tunnel with a walking/gathering outdoor area leading down to a nice fountain right on the river. THat was never shown or discussed.

Media Page with renderings here: http://calgarynext.com/media.php

For example:

Lrt entrance:

East side Entrance:

Another view of the river:

Such a disengenuous way of selling this thing. How much extra is burrying Bowtrail gonna cost? where are those figures? Is that included in the 1.3B (according to them) or is that gonna cost more if the city wants to do this right.

If this project is done in conjuncture with a redux of the Bow/Crowchild/Memorial interchange, I say the city should just pony up and do it. It has to be done sometime, do it all at once. If the Flames pay for the building (which their plan largely indicated they would IIRC), and the city pays for the necessary changes, I'd call it a win for everyone.

Build a great building, clean up the creosote, fix the traffic congestion, and create a beautiful space from what is a pretty down-trodden area at the moment.

A massive infrastructure project like that would be an economic boost to the city in a bad time (albeit, mostly temporary, but so is the oil price).

still better than what we, the public, saw, but nothing about this screams 'detail-oriented and professional'. Rushed, amateur, and poorly planned/designed, right down to the mock ups.

I don't recall them initially talking about making (a re-aligned) west-bound bow trail a tunnel underneath the project to connect the riverfront directly, but that latest renderings all show that. How much would that cost? The cost would be pretty immense to do it as illustrated here.

The original plan (and presumably the costing submitted - this figure hasn't changed of late) was this:

The original renderings never had the river walk area. As evidenced by this thread:
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthr...ht=calgaryNEXT

Looks like something optional.they are considering.

Never, I repeat, NEVER take renderings as gospel.

Think of it as a wireframe or a mockup before the actual design is conducted, used to sell the client on the idea.

I don't think Bow Trail is buried in those renderings. It looks more like a covering of Bow Trail and having the North side seamlessly connect to the riverwalk without moving Bow trail at all.

They're just trying to find a good pic of the Space Needle to add in there before they release them.

CSEC are one-upping Katz group, quite significantly.

Katz and his buddies, when the deal closed, contributed 165.5M to the project. 26.9% of the estimated costs.

CSEC, out of the gate, is offering up 200M. 22.5% of estimated costs when you count the fieldhouse. Remove the fieldhouse, and CSEC are proposing 29% of the total estimated costs.

Keep in mind, that's CSEC's opening offer. That will go up if CalgaryNEXT becomes a real project.

Based off the renderings we've seen here, they'll probably make it the Sears Tower instead.

So long as the Final Fantasy V soundtrack comes with it, we're good.
