I was paying plenty attention. I know my ####. I've been watching hockey for over 30 years. Elliott made a couple of good saves, but mostly the team had their zone under control.

From how I've heard experts talk about him, he's more of a tkachuck level prospect.
Not to take away anything from tkachuck, but you probably want a little more sizzle out of a 1st overall.

Personally I think the momentum changed when Brodie took that penalty. Elliott was great in the first half, and can't really blame him on the first three goals. The fourth was weak.

considering the Flames' best period was the 3rd, this continues to be untrue tho

Flames possesion was ~40% for first 2 periods, chances 11-1 ES for the Sabres

I do wonder - any chance the difference in goaltending between Elliott and Johnson comes from the fact that Johnson came from the Sabres, and is used to a tire-fire type of team, whereas Elliott is coming from a strong defensive team in St Louis... probably a pretty big adjustment.

Two calls on the same sequence, both were weak as hell, and they missed the Ristolainen dive on the 2nd call, which would have made it just a 5 on 4. Instead, it's an extended 4 on 3/5 on 3 and they score on both calls.

After that, the team was in disarray, but still rallied and tried their best to come back.

Elliott was culpable on 2 of the 4 goals (2nd and 4th), and I'd be fine with making him the backup to Johnson for the foreseeable future. His head just isn't in the right place, and he's too slow to react to everything.

I was on the bike at the gym just in time to see that trainwreck... It took me 30 min of hard exercise to get my smile back

My favourite part was when he called me a child when the Flames have the worst points/game in the league through 21 games. And our best player is out until 2017.

Has to be an act at this point, I mean can he LOOK at the standings and the stats? Worst GAA worst goal differential. For starters. Only reason we are not last in the NHL is games played.
