At this point I wouldn't put anything past them. Scumbags.

I am kind of curious as to how other residents are taking this. That building is going to be known for bad quality. If I was in the market for a condo, I would avoid it.

I do feel bad for the rep himself, he was just doing his job and got backed into a corner and was towing company line. This is more on the entire company philosophy.

I'm not sure I agree with your logic.
All around build quality isn't necessarily an issue. The issue is that things happen and the home builder left their customer hanging.
Every new build will have issues. The difference is that good builders will help fix the problems.

Again I think it would be easily explained as an isolated incident and I would try to assist them if it actually looks like that is the case.
Truman Homes could offer to address quality issues and what they're trying to do to fix this. They're literally just sitting on the sidelines offering zero support or acknowledgement of the issue. Its almost unbelievable to me. A little would go a long way.

So I thought I saw on reddit that the condo insurance was taking care of this. Did you get a solution or are you still fighting?

I got it covered by insurance but I'd rather not have an open claim and pay the deductible. I'd also like any public acknowledgment from Truman, anything to restore the value of living in this Trumam home. They're not even defending themselves, how are they making their customers feel? I mean I get that they're probably not having a great year, no one is asking them to move mountains here but come on. There are so many inexpensive solutions to this. Wake up Truman.

When I made this thread I was on my own and having zero luck getting answers for who is paying for this.
I'd love to post an "ah its over" post more than anyone.

Do we continue to have updates in this thread as the inevitable resignation to defeat sinks in when Truman basically just turtles through this?
Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side, it just seems like you're SOL here. They rope-a-doped through one news story on it.

Have you gotten anywhere with your insurance yet? Because really between your Condo insurance and your insurance you should be covered.
Then your insurance can decide whether or not to go after the sub trade or Truman. This kind of thing is why you buy insurance.

I'll post a final update eventually but I promise it wont just be "thats it guys I give up". Maybe it won't be Truman stepping up but something.

Haha No I actually have a couple none destructive ideas surprisingly. Although the constant drone of multiple dehumidifiers is testing that resolve.

I mentioned it before, but insurance is a drag. Not only do they often fight against having to pay out, but once you go through them, there will be a record of flood damage if you ever sell. Any buyer doing their due diligence will do a an insurance claim check on the property and all things being equal, most people will avoid buying a property with flood damage or a history of a catastrophic fixture failure.
I really do feel for Polak here and this is a tough pill to swallow, but I am afraid this is a no win situation. You also have to be careful fighting with people in that industry. Some of those tycoons can be pretty shady.
