well, at least the failures of the past decade haven't affected McDavid's drive for oiler greatness

I wanted next year to be the year that Edmonton became the first NHL Franchise to finish 31st, but I suppose if your plan comes to fruition it will be a 30 team league again next year.

Calgary squeaking out two wins has nothing to do with E=NG. You just don't get it. Why would you not be surprised if they turn it around? You'd be the only one on the planet that would not be surprised (unless your a Kool-Aid sucking Oilers troll). There is no data that supports them turning anything around except a golf cart during playoffs. The only realistic expectation should be what is currently happening - they started off hot until other teams figured out McDavid and now they are what they have been and what they always will be: NO GOOD!

Not to mention McDavid was fresh off the WCOH so by the time the regular season started he was already in mid-season form. Now that everyone else is caught up his speed isn't enough to score 3 points a game.

There's a reason why this city is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as I terrorize Edmonton, I will feed its people hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe they can survive so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to "stay in the sun." You can watch me torture an entire city and when you have truly understood the depth of your failure, we will fulfill Kevin Lowe's destiny... We will destroy Edmonton and then, when it is done and The Oilers are ashes, then you have my permission to once again be optimistic for next season!

So what your saying is that the only option to leave Edmonton is to climb up a long rocky shaft, and you can't make it with a safety rope so your choices are escape or death.
sounds about right.

still like this team...they're making dumb mistakes but competing every night and outshooting their opposition
the problem is in between the ears at the moment..hence getting scored on at the beginning of games
luckily the West sucks at the moment...just have to be better Vancouver Calgary and Arizona

And that still puts you on the outside looking in as LA, Anaheim and San Jose are all going to be better than you. As will five teams in the Central.

Looks like Puljujarvi will be playing on the top like next game for them. Way to rush the kid in the NHL so far. He shouldn't even be in the NHL yet, let alone the top line.

Dude's fast but teams are figuring him out. If he doesn't show some more creativity/versatility in his game there'll be a book on playing him out there a few years into his career.

Why? He was considered by majority of professional scouts as one of the most NHL ready player of the 16 draft because of his 2-way game, skating, and size. I will end your quote for you "imo"

Gaudreau was 21. McDavid was 19. That's two years difference, or 1/5th of a decade.
It's okay, simple math is hard.

In 2014 when gaudreau (21) had his hatty CM was 17 years old, that just under half a decade older than Mcdavid. Caught you! Jk ! Just amazing that CM has more points than any other NHL player since his return and only 19 and no1 in points now. i don't think JG has that on his 23 year old resume?
