Alberta's deputy premier booed defending NDP climate change plan to rural leaders
Quote:
EDMONTON — The Alberta government got a bit of a rough ride at a meeting with rural politicians in Edmonton.
Deputy premier Sarah Hoffman was booed as she defended the NDP’s climate-change plan, which includes a carbon tax and a phase-out of coal-fired electricity.
Hoffman said it’s necessary to address climate change because the science behind it is real and there are serious health concerns tied to burning coal.
Hoffman and other cabinet ministers fielded questions from hundreds of delegates to the fall convention of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties.

Mine as well and I'm raging. There's no way I would give a vote to the NDP.

I see Sandra Janson has crossed the floor to the NDP. She just killed her chances of being elected ever again.

She can't even blame her upcoming job loss on the NDP.

I don't understand what other LGBT issues are there?
Most people in this province respect and want these people to be a part of our community.
They have every right (that I know of) that we do.
Yet she keeps bringing up LGBT issues. If bathrooms are the only thing the left has left to campaign on then they are more out of touch than I thought.

She keeps bringing up LGBT issues because she's out to demonize Kenney and the PCs. But of course, divisive attack politics is only bad when poor little Sandra is the target.

Wow. Goes from trying to be a leader of the PCs to basically abandoning all principles and joining the NDP. Nice.
At least with WRP and PCs they were both right of centre. This is disgusting.

Call her out on it.
Sandra, what in particular are you concerned about?
And what will Jason Kenney do that he didn't do for 9 years as a federal cabinet minister?
And if Sandra can't answer. Tell her to shut up.

So what other former TV anchors do we have left to join politics? Gord Gillies as PC leader anyone?

There's nothing I hate more than a turncoat that crosses the floor, and that's irrespective of party lines. If you aren't happy with your party, sit as an independent for the rest of your 4 year term or resign.

Should be illegal, and there should be no choice but to sit as an independent without a byelection.
