She's my MLA (I'll use the term 'my' lightly). I did not vote for her last election and there's no way I can see our riding electing her as an NDP. This would be a very odd move on her part if it's true.

Jansen has been a wolf in sheep's clothing since day 1...she was never a real conservative as I and others said years ago....she's just showing her true colors.

I'm starting to put Kenney into the same category as Stockwell Day. Filed under "Politicians I won't EVER vote for".

Guy comes across like a total sleazeball.

How do you go from running for PC leadership to crossing to the NDP...

How does that make any sense?

from AM770 email:

==============
A surprise move in the legislature today, as Calgary North West MLA Sandra Jansen has announced she's crossing the floor from the PC Party to the NDP.

Premier Rachel Notley made the announcement this afternoon in Edmonton, saying Jansen represents a progressive voice for Albertans.

Jansen recently dropped out of the race for the PC leadership after the party's AGM, stating she had never experienced like she faced during the meeting, alleging that insults were written on her nomination papers and that she was chased through hallways.
==============

If the allegations in the last paragraph are true, the PC Party is truly in a mess.

If you listen to her press conference this move certainly comes across as personal. She is constantly referring to herself and how she feels, much less about her constituents.

Good riddance.

I think Notley thinks that she can bring across someone who will cry about the evils of the conservative party.

No one will care about Sandra and she'll go down with the sinking NDP ship.

Weren't people calling it ahead of time, that this was her plan all along anyhow?

On the plus side, now that Jansen is an NDP I may be more inclined to fill out her surveys, mail outs etc. It seemed like a waste of time before, sending anything to the opposition but now I can feel a little better knowing it is going to the government side. And yes I know it will be ignored just as it was before.

Yup. Now we can defeat her and get rid of her for good.

She was the worst.

I still can't believe people voted for these idiots.

How is this even allowed? It feels like a massive injustice to her constituents who, yes they did vote for her, but a big portion was voting for the party.

Kenney is more like his pal Rob Anders.

She'll get the same fate as the turncoats from the WRP.

Absolutely. So glad she left. Her policies fit in with the ndp party not the conservatives.
