2 wins in their last 8. Welcome back, Oilers!

3-6-1 in their last 10.
T-Mac's strategy of relying on McDavid is falling flat as he looks down the bench and see's the same old Oilers with Talbot holding them in games.
I said at the start of the year that organizational depth or the lack of would finish this team and after a hot start they've reverted to the same old soft defensively woeful Oilers with a shiny pony.

This is the Oilers I thought we'd see from the get-go. A lot of McDavid, no D and Talbot basically the only difference night in and out (usually not enough).

It's nice to see that the Oilers are settling in and getting comfortable again, but that also makes the two horrible, horrible losses to start the season even more infuriating. I'm having a difficult time to let go of those, especially considering that the standings actually would look fairly decent right now if we would have taken care of business.

He scored 3 goals in the first two games of the season. He has 2 since then.
He does lead the league in assists, though.

Yes. Against Vancouver at the end of October.

Yeah perhaps the one knock on McDavid is his finishing skills. I'm not sure they're as elite as the rest of his game. Couldn't score at the worlds either. For all the times that he gets in behind the opposition's defence, it sure is Byron-esque at times. Not to say that 29 teams wouldn't like to have him in their lineup still.

Yeah. 8-8-1 would be at least palatable right now. Still have a huge hole to dig out of thanks to the craptastic first couple games. Wish now we gave Johnson one of those starts. He's been really strong in every game he's gone into well rested, and just average goaltending would've kept us in those games.
Oh well. We'll just have to make the last two count.

The Flames were in game one until a horrible 10 second officating sequence. The Johnny no-call and the phantom penalty on McDavid for the penalty shot killed their momentum and deflated them.

I realize this goes against the spirit of this thread, but a nice story.
Edmonton police are thanking a homeless man who returned a lost wallet to a senior who said his “faith in humanity has been restored.”
On Wednesday afternoon, two constables were driving near 50 Street and 124 Avenue when a man flagged them down.
The man, who the EPS said is friendly and always says hello to police, is homeless.
He told police he found a leather wallet in an alley 30 minutes earlier and wanted to turn it in.
The wallet had cash, personal documents, prescription medication, as well as a debit and credit card inside.
The ID showed the owner was a 96-year-old man.

Man, kudos to him. When things are going rough for you that must have looked like a gift from God.
I'll give him all the credit in the world. Put in the same position I'm not sure I'd have done the same.

Nice story but it was probably massaged as the wallet probably had Oilers tickets in it and the man probably felt that like the ring in LOTR if he didn't get rid if it he would be condemned to misfortune.

I predict Talbot getting injured and needing the majority of the season for rehab. Oilers will try to swing a deal with Pit and land MAF to salvage their season, possibly by shipping out Eberle or something to that extent.
