Today, I went to go stock up on cigarettes, energy drinks and alcohol. I got out of my car and made it halfway to the store before a man in a MAGA hat grabbed me by the crotch and whispered "Are you scared now, you liberal ####?"

I froze. I ran back to my car once he walked away and drove straight home. I need to remove the Bernie sticker on my car, to be safe. I don't think I'll feel safe in this country ever again.

This is now public for sharing, and yes I did file a police report.
Im not sure if you are serious or sarcastic with that post.

What swear word has 3 letters?

Anyways please tell me where I'm wrong. Do you not remember the election? You know, the one where Harper drove his party into the ground and gave the liberals a majority?

Yes he happened to be a teacher in his younger days, Crazy.

That is not even in the same hemisphere as electing a wealthy real estate tycoon who reached stardom by starring in a reality tv show whose campaign literally blurred the line between parody and reality and was full of the most outrageous, offensive, demeaning and backwards comments that even forced his team to take away his access from his own TWITTER ACCOUNT. This man had zero experience in politics, his agenda publicly attacked minority groups, seriously suggested building a walled boarder with a country the US has a free trade agreement with and he insulted the family of a fallen solider because he was muslim. He won simply by taking advantage of the lowest common denominator in the American voting populous.

Get a grip.
Hilarious.

They are both populists. It doesn't mean they are the same person. They are speaking to different groups, but they both have bland platforms that just throw money at votes, with zero long term plan. A tax to the top 5% that does nothing to balance budgets but makes the masses think he's on our side. Populist.

your entire rant is basically true but completely irrelevant. They both have no real experience and the voters didn't care.

I'm starting to come around to this Clinton being the wrong candidate because she's so disliked. To me so much emphasis on it is just as silly as debates being a major criteria for choosing a president (or anything for that matter, debates are the worst venue for anything), I want to choose a candidate based on competency, policy, history, as well as communication skills.

But I'm far from a typical voter, and I understand that right or wrong it's the way the world works.

But I don't see how fighting populism with populism (by putting forward a populist liberal) in a country where the divide between the left right continues to widen is a good solution. Already the difference between left and right is less "my ideas differ from theirs" and more "if you're one of them you can't be one of us".

Being part of the rise of nationalistic xenophobic populism around the world doesn't seem like a good path forward.

Her losing the nationwide vote among white women is the biggest evidence of it. To me the only explanation for that is an underrated hatred of Clinton.

Bland platforms? I don't think you know what the word "bland" means. Trumps platform was the most extreme I've seen in my lifetime.

Trudeau was elected as an MP in 2008 and legitimately made his way through the ranks of the liberal party over those 8 years. Hardly no experience, every Prime Minister is "new" at one point.

Either way my comment wasn't just directed at you but the comparison has been made many times already on this site and it is in my opinion, totally unfounded. No one was shocked that Trudeau won. No one said "Trudeau could never actually win".

My wife couldn't stand Clinton. During the primaries she was supporting Bernie. When Bernie lost, she still didn't want to support Clinton. When mid September started to roll around she reluctantly started to come around because she was the candidate. But she was never truly happy about it.

Here's one for you photon,

Romney was the 'out of touch billionaire candidate'

Trump is richer than Romney! How did he become the 'in touch everyman candidate'? Books will be written on this.

Both parties put forward horrible candidates. Republicans because the mainstream vote was split so many ways, and the democrats hardwiring the results of someone who already is neck deep in ethical and competency issues. Nobody talks about this but to me is as big a problem as any.

Trudeau is not a populist leader. He is practically the embodiment of the political mainstream.

There are anti Trump protests in multiple cities across US.

I wonder if all these people voted...

Should Trump address them? They'll probably wither away in a couple days haha
