It is mighty pathetic watching the Trump supporters go after McMullin. Regardless of policy, McMullin has risked his life for his country and has basic human decency, things Trump knows nothing about.

Yeah that Trump supporter (and admitted white nationalist) who paid for a Utah Robocall that said McMullin was gay would probably be a better litmus test.

A federal judge is ordering the Republican National Committee to detail any agreements it has with Donald Trump's campaign to engage in "ballot security" efforts in connection with next week's election — something the national GOP has been banned from doing for decades without court approval.

The order also instructs the RNC to explain by 5 p.m. Tuesday what Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence were talking about in recent comments when they said that Trump's campaign was working closely with the RNC to make sure there is no fraud at the polls.

Newark, N.J.-based U.S. District Court John Vazquez issued the order Monday after the Democratic National Committee went to court last week to allege that the RNC was violating consent decrees from the 1980s settling a case alleging that GOP pollwatchers sought to intimidate minority voters in a practice then known as "caging."

The agreements allow the RNC to organize pollwatchers, but prohibit any effort to intimidate voters as they enter a polling place or to challenge individual voters, except as part of a program approved in advance by the court.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/under-...-ruling-230578

Soon the DNC will learn whether its hunch is correct. In an order handed down on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge John Michael Vazquez has given the RNC one day to produce:

- All agreements “in any form”—written and oral—between the RNC and the Trump campaign regarding “voter fraud, ballot security, ballot integrity, poll watching, or poll monitoring.”

- Details behind Pence’s statement that the Trump campaign was working with state governments and secretaries of state to ensure “ballot integrity.”

- Affidavits “setting forth in detail” the RNC’s “efforts with the Trump Campaign to monitor precincts around the country as indicated by Kellyanne Conway.”

- Affidavits explaining whether two RNC members, Rob Gleason and Ronna Romney McDaniel, are truly mobilizing poll-watchers to prevent voter fraud in Pennsylvania and Michigan, respectively, as both have stated.

Even if the RNC complies with this order, it seems unlikely that court intervention will prevent the Trump campaign from intimidating voters on Election Day if it really plans to do so. A number of courts have already ordered Republican officials in several states to halt their voter suppression efforts. Republicans are ignoring them—and getting away with it. Why should the Trump campaign respect the law when Republicans across the country are currently flouting it with impunity?

Yup. I think the Russia thing was Clinton's last volley, and it turned out to be a feeble one. I've read a few articles lately saying that this latest email thing won't have much of an impact. But it clearly has when you look at how much the race has tightened in just three days. Comey's letter to congress successfully gave the Republicans exactly what they desperately needed. Anthony Weiner's computer has brought Trump back from the brink. Who would have thought?

All that being said, I still predict a Clinton win, but it's not gonna be the landslide that we were all expecting. Unless the Dems have one more hail mary in their back pocket, this thing's gonna be close. It'll probably come down to Florida like it always does.

Supposedly some of the evidence filed in the court case against the RNC about poll watching:

The Comey thing will do down ballot damage more than anything. Perhaps we see Hillary picking back up in the polls mid week but I won't hold my breath.

A group of 370 economists, including eight Nobel laureates in economics, have signed a letter warning against the election of Republican nominee Donald Trump, calling him a “dangerous, destructive choice” for the country.

Signatories include economists Angus Deaton of Princeton University, who won the economics Nobel last year, and Oliver Hart of Harvard University, who was one of the two Nobel winners this year.

The letter is notable because it is less partisan or ideological than such quadrennial exercises, and instead takes issue with Mr. Trump’s history of promoting debunked falsehoods.

“He misinforms the electorate, degrades trust in public institutions with conspiracy theories and promotes willful delusion over engagement with reality,” said the signatories, which also include Paul Romer, the new chief economist at the World Bank, and Kenneth Arrow, the 1972 Nobel winner.

hard to say

Due to Comey, the media, and Trump, I think Hillary has been convicted in general public perception of new and damning things. and perceptions is what can swing elections.

I think the polls were naturally going to tighten as people get used to whatever trump said and rationalize how they can vote for him. If you look at the 538 odds over time it has 3 distinct Clinton peaks and now heading for the third trough. You could sy these are triggered by events like the convention and the debates and the troughs from trump clinching, the emails, and this tape.

But I see it more as the natural ebb and flow of the undecided. As the prospect of trump gets closer people reconsider if they really want that. As Hillary creeps into landslide people get wary of that.

I'd argue that this race has always been Hillary +4/5 with media naritive driving it one way or another but no real movement actually occurred and what's really happening in the polls is undecided likely voters becoming non voters in disgust.

Let's throw an odd quirk into things shall we? So this account exists...

https://twitter.com/FBIRecordsVault

...but it's mostly been dormant (13 months without a tweet). Then suddenly they tweet this...

Quote:
FBI Records Vault ‏@FBIRecordsVault Oct 30
Fred C. Trump: Fred C. Trump (1905-1999) was a real estate developer and philanthropist. This release consists of... https://vault.fbi.gov/fred-c.-trump
https://twitter.com/FBIRecordsVault/...37173937807360

Then this...

https://twitter.com/FBIRecordsVault/...37192392679428

And finally this...

FBI appears to be a bit of a #### show right now.
