A glass of red wine per day. A full bottle if people are over. 1/2 a bottle if I am out for dinner with the better half. Occasionally a beer instead. OMG!WTF!, I coud use 3-4 cases... just in the process of building a new cellar - and there is room for another 900 bottles or so.

We have to seriously re-evaluate our lunch meetings...
I think from now on they're at your house. We can order the dumplings in.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Damn, apparently we just speak different languages because I actually enjoy good beer, good scotch, good whiskey, good rum and good cocktails. If I'm drinking something it's because I like it. Frankly I can't think of anything I'd rather have with a good meal than a good beer. Does your theory also apply to wine? Because I can't imagine why anyone would drink wine solely for a buzz.
Yeah I've learned recently I only like wine with a nice dinner, as I'm not a fan of getting drunk on wine. Something about the type of drunk it is just doesn't resonate with me, it's heavy like beer and it just makes me tired and kinda grumpy. I'll have one or two with dinner on a nice occasion, that's it.
And fair enough, frankly my buddies and step dad are like you too. I think most people are to be honest. I LOVE a good Caesar, and I'll definitely get er done if we're going out on the town or something. But aside from that, I'm just not much of a drinker anymore for whatever reason. Think I'm really turning into my hippy, musician Vancouverite father, as I tend to reach for another, stereotypical B.C. substance to unwind during Flames games these days instead of booze.
Highballs and martinis can be so high calorie. I had been gaining weight but recently cut down on drinking at home a bit, and eating better. Nothing wrong with vodka water! My latest find is gin and kombucha gingerade. Haha, almost no calories in kombucha and tastes like ginger ale. Anyway I'm 5'11 and was pushing 180 a few months ago. Down to 155 lbs now which is closer to the uber fit weight of my 20s. Still like the beer though! But I leave it for when I go out now http://synergydrinks.com/index.php/p...ucha-gingerade
Some pretty guilt free mix right there. Have yet to try it with whiskey

I get beer as an alcoholic beverage that you can have while relaxing, doing some work around the house, or sitting around a camp fire etc, but I never could understand drinking beer to get drunk. Too much volume for too little buzz.
It's a natural pacing mechanism.

Does anybody not drink? Seems like everyone drinks these days. And I'm not talking about people who drank and then stopped I mean does anybody just not drink to begin with?
Canada has one of the highest percentage of beer drinkers in the world. It goes hand-in-hand with watching Hockey (pun intended) so it's not really a shock to me.
As for me, at 27 I drink semi-regularly on the weekends and occasionally during the week for a wing night or hockey game.
I have a much lower tolerance now which my bank account thanks me for. Unfortunately it's still nowhere near 3-4 drinks, but I'm getting there. I now always try not to cross the line between having more fun and just worsening the hangover. I'm more disciplined in ensuring some greasy food gets in my belly along with plenty of water before bed. It's been several years since I've had a hangover that a couple puffs can't fix.
Going to see Broken Lizard tonight so you better believe it's not going to be an early night.

5'11 180 sounds a lot healthier than 5'11 155. Depends on your body type I guess.
As for me when I drink, I binge drink. Getting more and more rare these days.

On the contrary. 5'11" @ 180 lbs is a BMI of 25.1, which places a person slightly into the 'overweight' category. 5'11" @ 155 lbs is a BMI of 21.6, which is squarely in the middle of the normal weight range of 18.5 - 24.9.
You're right that body type (read as: amount of muscle) can skew this, but as is the case with the majority of the population, most people aren't carrying enough muscle mass to skew their results in that direction. In fact, you could make the argument that there are more skinny-fat people who fall into a healthy BMI by having a lack of lean tissue. But I digress.
I apparently drink way,way more than most of you (not proud of it) I regularly kill 12-15 beers. I don't drink during the week, but Friday nights, the gloves come off.
