Do you see Wideman's PPG/game, as well as the Flames lack thereof, as being sustainable?

Based on trends from the first four games, I predict Wideman ends the season with 25 PPGs and the rest of the D corp will have none.

Engelland has not left me wanting more at all this season. He's been consistent; and has stepped up the rough stuff too without taking penalties.

Every other d-man has left me wanting more this season. The group has steadily been getting better though, to be fair.

Wideman-Kulak are a far better 3rd pairing, especially at home where you can shelter them.
Wideman is the pylon. Engelland has been very solid for us, one of our better defenseman the first few games. Have you been watching him? Your analysis says no.

Yes, in the preseason he did. The fact that Chiasson made the team I think is in large part because of Gulutzan's previous relationship with him. Freddie Hamilton, for example, clearly out played him and he hasn't even seen the ice yet. But that isn't a bad thing. That was my point. Trust is part of what informs a coaches decision, something fans aren't privy to and sometimes disagree with. This will always be true and is as it should be.
