It is a fact that most of the people on here probably never spend their personal time with those whose political or moral views significantly differ from their own.
It's the infection feeding our sickness of moral absolutism and political hyper-partisanship where every debate becomes a fight to the death with a mortal enemy.
Actually very untrue, at least in my experience. I'm a pretty staunch liberal feminist, drive a Prius, listen to NPR, I'm every cliche you can imagine. The salon I work at is heavily influenced by rural PA/WV, as we're right in that southwest corner of PA, far enough from the city that it trends pretty far red. So I'm regularly surrounded by clients and coworkers who are consistent GOP voters.
The funny part of talking with said voters is that none of them are actually really opposed to gay marriage. Several of them want universal healthcare. Our salon is located less than a mile from the PA headquarters of Mylan, the drug company at the center of the Epi-pen controversy, and people are irate at the cost of medications and at the ridiculous amount of money that Mylan's CEO makes every year. They complain about big corporations taking advantage of employees.
We actually see eye to eye on most of the issues.
But they're convinced that Trump is actually going to fix all of the problems, that Obama hates them because they're white. I've even heard that Michelle Obama is secretly transgender and Barack is secretly gay. They parrot Fox News headlines and ridiculous Facebook-shared conspiracy theories even though when you actually talk about the underlying issues--really they're voting against their own beliefs, but they believe what Sean Hannity tells them to believe.

They just had a segment on CNN about the "voter fraud", including Giuliani getting in on the act. You'd think he'd know better. Anyway, whoever the guy they had on was, he said there have been more than 800 million ballots cast in federal elections since 2001, and they had 35 verified cases of "voter impersonation".
Dubya had an entire voter fraud task force and found nothing

Trump’s five-point plan includes instituting a five-year ban on lobbying for executive branch officials, lawmakers and their staffers after they leave government. The plan would ban senior executive branch officials from ever lobbying on behalf of foreign governments.
The Republican presidential nominee also called for broadening the definitions of lobbying to close loopholes that allow de facto lobbyists to avoid registering as such and banning foreign lobbyists from raising money for American candidates for office.
A good play to try and show he's the anti-corruption candidate, compliments calling everything Clinton does corrupt. Why didn't he do this months ago??
Would ring a little truer if his transition team wasn't comprised almost entirely of lobbyists.

Haha, Trump trying to promote ethics reform? Wow. Maybe he should start by paying his taxes.
No huge surprises from the Melania interview tonight. Blames Bush for egging Trump on. Blames the conspiracy of the left wing media that it came out when it did. It was all organized. She doesn't seem to see the harm in his words of advocating assault or even admit that that's what they are.
Also says the women accusing Trump were organized by the opposition. She also defended targeting Bill Clinton.
'"If they bring up my past, why not?" she said, interference to her former model photos being published. "They’re asking for it. They started. They started from the — from the beginning of the campaign putting my — my picture from modeling days. That was my modeling days and I’m proud what I did. I worked very hard."'
Which makes little sense, if she'd proud of it how is bringing it up something that needs retaliation??
Skip to 1:10.. I mean it's fine (a little awkward, she doesn't dodge as gracefully as Trump's daughter did lol), but when you've got multiple instances of being creepy to little girls talking about dating them when they're older maybe don't go in for the second one...

The problem with this is next year when someone complains about voter id laws they will bring this up as evidence of voter fraud. Trumps speech tomorrow will probably mention it.
It's hilarious but idiots will probably believe it as fact and parot it for years
These are the comments from a particularly pro-Trump news message board regarding this article that 41 percent of voters think the election could be stolen.

Considering that the MSM has already distorted things by dreaming up Trump scandals and not reporting on Hillary's corruption and health ... then, throw in voting by illegals, multiple voting, proxy voting, voting by dead people, voter intimidation, and the ease by which voting machines can be hacked ... and I'd say this election is already been rigged!

Indeed, I put the likelyhood of a Trump loss due to voter fraud right up there with the likelyhood of death and/or taxes.

Trump threw a jab with "rigged election" comment. Instead of being laughed out, it is taken seriously by both friends and foes. Libs start to fear that the stigma of rigged election would be around long after the election is over even if the crooked one wins. It could poison her presidency before it even begins.
This time around, it is increasingly clear that things won't be over after stealing the election.

At least a growing number of people are aware of the possibility of it. Unlike the last two elections I think the Dems are gonna have to steal even more votes this time to make up for the lack of enthusiasm for Hillary.

The Democrat DOJ works hard to insure that no one can check on voter fraud.
Literally no one on this site is making any claims that the election might not be rigged. There's no push back at all, it's like someone on CP stating that our goaltending was bad last year.
You can really get a sense of where the country is going to be after the election. If and when Hillary wins, there are going to be 50 million people who hate her guts. The anger, the disenfranchisement, the real distrust in government and democratic systems will remain. Without any trust in 'media' there will be no agreement as to what 'truth' or 'facts' are. For 35% of the country, the absolute truth will be that the election was in fact stolen due to: hacked machines, ballot-box-stuffing, fraudulent counting, legal maneuvering, etc. No report, analysis, or study will be able to convince them otherwise because such a report would come from an untrustworthy source, be it either academia or the media.
This will allow these people to declare Hillary illegitimate in their own minds, that any and all resistance to her desirable, necessary, and moral and any compromise utterly immoral. These people are also a politically active force in the Republican party who will run in primaries, vote in primaries and mid-term elections. It'll be the Tea Party of 2010 all over again, perhaps on a slightly smaller scale, but with an angrier edge.
And ultimately, you know who's to blame?
John McCain.
His selection of Sarah Palin as his running-mate in 2008 activated and legitimized this strain of thinking.
Sheriff Clarke
Calls Black Lives Matter a hate group.
Keeps calling Hillary Mrs. Bill Clinton.
Repeats it is pitchforks and torches time in America.
Says the elections are rigged.
Yeah, if I was a liberal citizen under his jurisdiction I'd feel TOTALLY safe.

Trump releases a video about one of the "big breaking stories of our time" about routine discussion of classification status of a single email that was not classified at the time Clinton was supposed to have.. intentionally leaked it to the global cabal of bankers I guess.
