"Only time I've ever heard a candidate threatening to jail his opponent was in the Congo. He lost & was later convicted of war crimes."

The other part of the debate that stuck in my mind was Trump accusing Clinton of wanting single payer health care.
Why wouldn't Clinton support that? I guess I know why, but I wish Dems would just own that as a goal.
Trump's said many times in the past he supports a single payer system.

There's a statue of Clinton in Albania. I'm sure it's less random than it appears.

I'm pretty sure Trump only smiles when he thinks he's said something pithy.
Why aren't you recommending he smile more?

Trump posts a picture of himself from somewhere else mis-quoting himself from the debate on his Facebook

Meanwhile, earlier in the debate, someone right in this thread criticized her for smiling and looking smug. Scowling isn't appealing, smiling is smug.
Trump, meanwhile, stalked her around the stage like a creepy drunk guy in a dark subway station. But that wasn't a problem.
Hillary has to smile, but not too much. She has to speak up, but not too loudly so as to not seem like she's "shrieking." She has to look presentable, but not too obsessed with her looks. She must speak eloquently and intelligently but not seem condescending. She must prove that she's warm and approachable and grandmotherly, but not appear weak and overly feminine.
Trump has to just not drop the N-word on stage.
The grading for this election is on a curve unlike anything I've ever seen.

I think she missed a huge opportunity when Trump claimed to have no businesses or loans in Russia. She should have hit him on his tax returns that people don't know if he does or not. He violated the embargo and spent money in Cuba while giving a different impression to the public, how do we know he isn't doing the same here?

That was me that with the smug remark. I said it plays bad and makes me wince, but it was in that moment when I viewed it that way. I've defended Hillary when people called her shrill, or said she was yelling, or when comments were made about her being smug. When I made that comment earlier tonight, she did appear to me to have that expression at that point, which is why I said it, because I know people will view it as a negative.

I didn't mean to single you out, I couldn't even remember who made the comment, it didn't bother me much on the fly, really. But to see that comment, and then after the debate he comments about the scowl, it just struck me as interesting. These aren't really comments that male politicians are subject to.
