Man, it's gonna be hard to console all these Americans tomorrow after such a brutal tournament.

Oh wait, football season started. Nobody's watching this.

nvm.

Absolutely...no one should be playing 2 nights in a row after 3 months off, never mind 10.

No, last game wasn't close to this bad. They were competitive, tonight they totally gave up after the second goal against.

I hope Torts has a post-game scrum meltdown. Is Larry Brooks there covering it?

Think I'll quickly whip up some Jiffy-Pop

This ain't the Olympics. I hope there's a little hatred between these two teams. It'll make for a better game next time they meet. This one was kind of boring.

They will get ripped for their effort perhaps.

To reiterate, it was like men and boys out there.
Kane and maybe Pavelski or Wheeling make Team Canada.
I don't think one USA D could make Canada.
Total mismatch talent wise.
Not even close.

Plus, Crawford.
There was also former Flame star Robert Reichel who had a heck of a tournament as well. He was the one who scored for the Czechs in the shootout to beat Canada.

He was denied entry at the border.

Canada Customs decided his fear-mongering and union schilling was criminal.

Good point. I remember being nervous about the outcome until the last ten minutes. Then I realized the Americans hadn't touched the puck all period, and began to understand how truly dominant our national team currently is.

I think they will get ripped for the construction of the team, the choice of coaching staff, the decisions of the coaching staff as well as the effort of the players.

This was a complete and utter fail.

Will they? I was expecting the American media to treat it with more of a "Meh, who cares, it's a mean nothing tourney" due to their poor performance.

Perhaps a couple of different player decisions as far as construction would make a minimal difference.
The fact is they. would stil have a gargantuan chasm left to fill before they could dream of having Canada's talent.

Their void is skill. Plain and simple.

Kessel was probably tweeting about how he forgot to pick up his dry cleaning or something, but still.

DAMN

That's ok, ESPN did a little post game coverage, including highlights of the tournament so far, and the broadcaster pronounced Alexei Emelin's name "ah---mullen". Full on 2 second pause within the name as he tries to figure out how it's pronounced. It's kinda funny and sad watching ESPN fumble through hockey coverage.
