Just me, but I think those rings are pretty ugly. They need to be scaled way back.

Those are ugly and stupidly large.

A ring with the team logo, the championship year, a few diamonds, voila.

This is the top post on the reddit hockey sub right now. Never underestimate the power of a meme.

Can someone explain to me what these meme is all about? I know the gorilla was killed at a zoo. No idea why it has become a pop culture thing or what the shirt means.

Tkachuk and Gillies at the NHLPA rookie showcase. Pretty much a photo op for hockey cards.

Looking at that, I'm reminded again of how the Flames wasted a 2nd rounder on a huge guy who can't play hockey while Dvorak was still on the board.

Not really, plenty of publications had Hunter Smith going in and around the 2nd round that year. Christian Dvorak played only played 33 games putting up 14 points going into that draft so there was lots of unknowns.

Both were project type picks who went to teams with an extra 2nd rounder. Both still have lots to prove, Dvorak is by no means a lock. Plenty of question marks about his game transitioning to pro and how much of a "leech" to star players he was.
