And if Gaudreau does, that doesn't somehow make Monahan's contract worse than Eberle's. Nor Gaudreau's.
Now I go back to following the rules. Good day.

I am saying that if the big difference between Monahan and Eberle is GP (evaluation period) and Position then Monahan has the same advantage over Gaudreau.. The extra scoring for Gaudreau will obviously out weigh the position/GP.
Gaudreau despite less time and playing a lesser position will obviously get a better contract .

The primary difference between Monahan and Eberle is that Monahan is a better player.
The fact that he also plays a more importnat position just enhances the difference.

Sad to see Oiler fans so wounded and insecure they need to resort to trying that hard to sound insulting.

No, you're here to vent because of how insecure you feel about how terrible Edmonton's been for the better part of a decade. But you're doing a terrible job of it. Can't see you being around much longer as you're not even clever enough to try and disguise what you're doing.
Try a bit more subtlety.

No, no, no. Having him around is perfect - every time he posts, every other Oiler fan cringes in embarrassment.
And that's not easy to make happen - those poor souls must have some seriously thick skin!

Over the first three seasons of that contract this guy put up 77 goals and 98 assists across 230 games. That's an 82 game average of 27 goals and 35 assists a season. Six million for 62 point winger in his prime, who happens to be an elusive right-shot.
|
I beg to differ
Last year Hudler had 16 goals 46 pts -1 in 72 games... Eberle 25 goals 47 pts -12 in 69 games.
What does Eberle offer as a UFA that is worth 4-5M more per year than what Hudler will offer. There is a very limited market for small soft players that are not elite talent like Gaudreau.
The Oilers found this out when they had Eberle on the trade market for a top-4 (any top-4) d-man.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd take Eberle for free either.
The only way he's getting you those 60 points is if he is getting full top 6 opportunity and PP. PP time is fine, but he isn't making anyone's top 6 better - too soft, and and too weak defensively.
He is the quintessential top 6 player on a crappy team - will get you the points, but you're not winning consistently with him.
And at $6M per, that's just not good value.
Like Ricardodw said: way better value to sign a Hudler for a third of the price instead.

Ya, one of the classiest, most mature and well spoken young players in the game and you're comparing him to Derp. Ban this clown.

Don't ban him. How often do we see Oiler fans who stick to bragging about one championship?

At the very least the mods should force him to use Cletus as his new avatar. His posts already read like they were written by a hillbilly so it would be perfect.

Monahan is boring, not derpy.
Not sure that Oil fan knows exactly who he's talking about.

I think his current avatar already accomplishes that quite well.
