Sucks that we need to be so politically correct.
Nothing wrong with the LV Familia IMO. Shout out to the Vegas roots.

As far as birds go, a nighthawk is not a hawk but rather a member of the nightjar family.

There were a couple of mornings in Vegas I'd have killed for some Ativan for my hangover. Lol

Forget the NFL, the obvious comparison would be the Red Sox and the White Sox.

I definitely get why the Knights are asking the world to relinquish the Knights.
If LV is around in 20 years, the London Knights become viewed as a sub-team of them. They are a much more respected and unique team without an NHL team encroaching on their mark.

If these are the lengths team naming is going to stoop to, why not just go right off the deep end with this:
- Las Vegas Night Walkers
- Las Vegas Hustlers
- Las Vegas Indebtedness

Hope this rumour is true. All 3 names were horrible choices.
Why not something simple and fitting, like Aces?
Las Vegas Aces

maybe a simple tweak of one of the rumoured names - Las Vegas Night Owls? It drops the Hawk reference, keeps "night" in the name and has some relevance to Vegas.

@NormanJamesCTV
The London Knights say the Las Vegas NHL franchise has not contacted them regarding use of the name "Knights".
He's apparently the sports guy out of London.

Chris Creamer (of sportslogos.net fame) is saying that the team has eliminated all three of these names from contention.
So, with nothing else to do now, you may as well continue with the awful casino puns.

There are two teams I know of off the top of my head that are Nitehawks/Nighthawks.
The 1st is a Junior B hockey team in my hometown of Fruitvale (Beaver Valley):
The 2nd is an ultimate frisbee team in Vancouver:

Hoping for Aces, and if they won't do that, then I think just going with Las Vegas Hockey Club would be an interesting idea.
