My friend also runs a blog about Canadian high performance sport.
She always lists when Canadians are competing.

Great Britain eliminated Argentina too... on a game that went to extra time at 0-0. And they did so after a penalty kick to win went off the upright.

Great men's basketball game right now. Australia really giving the Americans all they can handle.

Fiji, GB, SA & Japan.

One of these things is not like the other.
One of these things does not belong.

I think that to date the 7's (both sexes) has been great. It has produced drama, excitement and upsets.

Hell Japan didn't even have core status.

In the basketball game, the USA leads 70-67 after three quarters.

Just curious, is it just me or do all of the photos of the US swim team's gold medal winners on CBC's Rio app look like mugshots from a DUI?

Australia really made the USA work this one. Nice to see a competitive basketball game in the Olympics!

I am very curious to know what the North Koreans are thinking during these games.. what their mindset is.

They are told how much the outside world is horrible but then they see reality.

The north korean athletes know about the world. They are not general public. The north korean ping pong girl is my new favorite player. A rare defensive player.

Japan making the semis is a massive surprise. I can't see them getting a medal though.

Sevens is the perfect modern Olympic team sport. Fast, physical, the potential for upsets, and good for short attention spans.

Hopefully the 2020 tournament expands to 16 teams so the Canadian men have a chance to compete.

Great effort from the Boomers. For some reason I can't stand the NBA but enjoy NCAA and Olympic basketball.
