Plus 1 for Andrei Trefilov. How many times has a Flames goalie posted back to back shutouts like he did in 93-94? I have to assume Kipper did it, but has to be a pretty small group.

Does Anton Stralman count? Because I didn't neccessarily like or dislike his fleeting stint as a Flame... but he's pretty good and fun to watch. Sort of a Mini Brodie.

Turek opened his first season here, I believe, with two straight shutouts.

I think it's fair to say Ferland has the making of another Chris Simon type. But with better hair.

They were just so good at stinging the opposition for random mistakes.

Thanks for this.
Nostalgic sigh! This clip beautifully illustrates the strength of Iginla setting up the Gelinas goal, and Donovan's speed setting up the second. The Flames sure missed Donovan in game 7 of the final.

Anton Stralman. I don't think he would be near the player he has become if not for his time with the Flames.

The first player I thought of when I opened this thread was Rick Tabaracci. My friends and I were nutso for that guy in the mid-90s.

He certainly had a flair for the dramatic saves, and one of the bright spots during that era.

Would those days where Teemu Selanne signed the offer sheet with the Flames count?

Loved Wes Walz on NHL94 (think that was the year)

Remember when Freddie Modin was a Flame for like 3 or 4 games?

I have had laser brain surgery to scourge all of my recollections of the 2010-11 season, so no.

Probably Cujo for me - mostly for that comeback game vs the Sharks featuring The Hit by Sarich. Made 22 saves in a 56 minute shutout.

Made it to page four without seeing Sean Donovan mentioned.

Rob Ramage - only played 12 regular season games for Calgary the year we actually got him for Brett Hull. It wasn't until the following season when we won the cup. He was traded right after to Toronto.

Gary Leeman could be another added to the "who's your least favorite short term Flame" category

You are correct, in that 'Sean Donovan' has yet to be mentioned until now in this thread.

For shame, indeed, since that loser 'Shean Donovan' has been mentioned multiple times previously. Honestly, the nerve of this community.
