Default Who's your favourite short time flame?

Just some summer time jibber jabber...

I was thinking Ville Nieminen or Marcus Nilsson. I loved that line in 03/04.

Kristian Huselius.

Brought some entertaining hockey to the Flames at a time when the Flames were terribly boring to watch.

Nieminen for sure. Only 8 points in 24 games in the 2004 run, but seemed like each one was epic.

I know he got a couple sarcastic mentions in the favourite free agent thread, but I loved Tony Amonte after he dropped the mitts with Schultz.

Kristian Huselius for me too ... just extremely entertaining to watch. Owen Nolan and Adrian Aucoin were great as well.

Harmlik. I loved how he made Phaneuf look competent and I was sad to see him leave for Montreal.

Not sure what would be deemed "Short time" but Huselius came in and was a game changer for the flames. He was a primary reason for Iginla hitting 50 goals in one of those seasons, a major contributor to the powerplay that saw phaneuf be a 60-60 point dman, and a major reason that Langkow got the goal/point totals he did and ironically the contract that led to the flames having to walk away from Huselius to make the cap figures work.

he was a soft, one dimensional player, but he was a gamebreaker in that one dimension when he had confidence (which he did in spades during the 2006 &2007 seasons). He made Tanguay (ugh) totally expendable, and i loved when news came out that iggy had suggested that huselius be moved to his line to the coaches, which i always felt began tanguay's demise.

I remember how pissed I was in the 2008 offseason when they had to let Huselius go and then brought in Bertuzzi. Infuriating.

Ken Wregget for me. Only played 27 games for the Flames before injuring his back. Put up a 2.53 GAA on a horrible Flames team.

Met him that season, with my wife who was pregnant with our twins at the time. He gave us a lot of his time and was a totally cool guy.

It would help to set some parameters on how we define "short time," since several of these players are ranked in the Flames' top-100 all time games played (Nilson, Huselius, Aucoin).

Since the mean number of games played for every player to wear a Flames jersey is 70, I would suggest that a "short time Flame" be defined as any player to appear in <70 games for the team.

With that metric in mind, my favorites are either Mike Commodore or Freddie Brathwaite.
