Yeah, I gotta go with Skrudland too. Guy was one of the last cuts to the '91 Canada Cup roster. A year later the Flames salvage something from the Gilmour trade by moving Leeman to Montreal and bringing in Skrudland. Great two-way centre. Great leader. Then Risebrough leaves him exposed in the expansion draft. What a bonehead move. Skrudland only captained the Panthers to the Cup finals two years later.

Kristian Huselius played more games in a Flames uniform than Martin Gelinas, Jamie Hislop, Mel Bridgeman, and Brad Marsh. He played for a total of three NHL teams over the course of twelve years, and 1/3 of that time was spent in Calgary.

Huselius can NOT be classified as a "short time Flame."

That 2004 team was loaded with these types of players. Nieminen gets my vote for having a huge impact.

I understand the Tonelli votes but he was a little past his prime when he got here. I was at the airport in 1986 with friends when Flames won game 5 in Edmonton to meet players as they walked through the terminal. It was pretty fun. Huge crowd as they walked through high fiving us etc. I guess there was some damage to the airport, and it was bit of a mob scene so after game 7 the players went straight from the plane to a bus.

Anyway Tonelli and Fotiu were in a car together pulling out of the garage and JT agreed to kiss one of the girls in our group. Not sure why but that memory has really stuck with me. We were all about 18.

It may have been short but it felt oh so long, Anders Eriksson.

The single worst player to ever pull on the Flaming C.

So I'm guessing while 19000 some odd people deafeningly chanted his name in the 2004 playoffs, you sat on your hands in silence?

To me he fits this question perfectly. A guy that couldn't play hockey worth a lick but because a cult hero for his role in a very memorable year.

I guess we all have our own criteria though.

All of these guys played less than 100 games for the Flames and stand out for one reason or another.

I view short-time as sub 1 season.
Add another vote to Skrudland. Was the type of leader this organization has lacked at times - and it is too bad they chose to expose him.

I couldn't agree more, but I was responding to a poster's suggestion that it is ludicrous for everyone to NOT select Oliwa. There are lots of players from which to choose, and this one is clearly not the unanimous choice.

The man who single-handely lost us the series vs the Sharks in 2008. I've never in my life seen a player play poorly in a series, yet watch a coach (Keenan) hand feed him 20+ minutes of ice time.

There aren't really any players in NHL history that I ''hate''. But Eriksson takes the cake for me. I know this is a thread about your favourite short term Flame, but god damnit all you had to do was mention Eriksson and now I'm all riled up!!

Ditto man. To this day I still hate him. His name infuriates me. How an NHL defenceman was physically incapable of stopping a puck around the boards I shall never know.

Tom Kostopoulos

The Kostopoulos - Moss - Jackman line will always be one of my absolute favorites. Those guys were on fire that year

Edit:

I can't believe I forgot about Bertuzzi. He gets my vote

Also like Reinprecht. I almost forgot about him. Better than Drury.

He was here for two stints for a total of three seasons, making him a definite stretch of the criteria, however my favourite is Jamie McLennan.

Bertuzzi might have been the most surprising. Thought he'd suck hard here and I'd hate him. He was a great player, got to see how amazing that backhand was and he stayed away from the garbage.
