Up to 22 possible evolves for my lucky egg. It's hard to not keep building before springing the egg. Might wait till lunch on Monday since I'm always on top of two lured spots in my building. There's not an evolve time delay is there? I can just smash them all out right away?
There is a brief animation per evolve. Maybe 10-15 seconds.

I did 25 evolves tonight. Including catching a few while evolving, finished with about 10 minutes left on the egg timer.
Caught a Clefable tonight while at my parents for dinner! No lure, incense or anything special. Was just sitting there and it pops up.
It was only a 32CP one, but still, caught one.
I did too! I was watching Game of Thrones and decided to check PokeVision and I saw it was about a 5 minute drive away from me so I booked it over there and caught it. Mine's only 30CP as well, but it's nice to have one!

Yesterday I learned that you don't have to click the items that pop up when you spin a pokestop. Just spin and close when it turns pink and you'll get the items.
This will save me (and now all of you as well) valuable seconds in my life!

Yesterday I learned not to walk around messing with your phone screen playing pokemonGO. Apparently I deleted all 125 of my poke balls somehow. Now all I have is 3 great balls to play with. I live in between Calgary and Chestermere so I have to drive to get to pokestops to get more balls

At that point you might as well fork over the couple dollars for the Pokeballs to save on time and gas.

meh... the only thing that ever spawns for me in my neighborhood is Pidgeys & Weedles. I have to go somewhere to hunt anyway so I'll save my monies. It's a downhill slide ( for me anyway) once I fork out those first couple bucks.
Caught the first Scyther I've seen, it was high CP and the battle took forever. Not 5 seconds after its finally caught a 2nd Scyther with similar CP hatches from an egg.

Density matters...I caught more Pokemon walking from one end of Chinook mall to the other (Parked on the 'other' end from the movie theatre, going to the movies) than I do in my 4-5km walks around the neighborhood.

Was at Eau Claire walking around and it was was crazy busy.. Everyone took off running towards the bridge that's next to Memorial... yelling Dratini. I made it over... got a dratini w 40 CP =(
from experimentation you maintain the same % full as the Pokemon you had before.
From reading the max CP is determined by player level and species therefore is not path dependant.
My question that I don't know the answer to is is it cheaper to upgrade them to max CP before or after you evolve them.
Just started reading the subreddit silphroad. These guys are reverse engineering the game. After 10 minutes of reading, the answer to your question seems to not be so clear or easy to understand.
But one factor is that your moveset changes with evolution. Why blow resources until you know what the new moveset will be?
Edit: Got to level 15 today. Took the kid wall climbing at cardell. The wall happened to be a lure spot, so I fished. Came up with 4 tauros and a bunch of hitmonchans.
