His upside is greater? Nakladal is all of about 7 months younger than Russell. He might have come to North America late, but chances are what you see is what you get. A borderline NHLer.

You may be right but his sample size in the NHL is too small to fully confirm that. Would love to see a full season of him first before I make the assumption that he's a borderline NHLer. He's got a cannon from the point, moves the puck well and is getting acclimated to the NHL game.

Probably the Blues actually, he's a solid insider for STL and they are weak on the left side.

I dont know. I'm a bit surprised that teams are trying to move money around in order to fit Russel in, he seems like the opposite kind of player, if you've got space and a need great, but I dont see making a special effort to fit him in.

He's not the same player he was in St. Louis, he grew a great deal in his time in Calgary so it wouldn't be strange at all.

Can't believe teams need to move $$'s at this point to sign Russell. He has next to no leverage currently and you'd think he's signing a one year deal. I find his situation pretty shocking. He's good enough to have signed with someone by now.
Heard today Carolina offered him a deal and it's being considered big time. Hard to fathom why he would go to the Hurricane's (except for money of course)

Dude just got married and apparently is going on his honeymoon. Not sure if that plays into any timeline. Can't see Carolina offering a ton of dough. Lots of nyr fans on Twitter want the rags to sign him. Can see them looking at other options first but they do need to rework their blue line after changing the f mix up this week. They have a second buyout window which could open up additional cap space if Russell is their guy.

Did a little googling.
Joshua Marshall is the head Alberta scout for the BCHL Surrey Eagles, and he's from Caroline. I'd be gobsmacked if he didn't know the Russell family personally. We're not just talking some random unconnected yahoo (such as, for instance, myself).
