Went with Jankowski, particularly because he has shown a good arc of progression that suggests he understands what he has to do to be successful.

Thank you for that clarification. I was thinking that he looked the best and most ready of the 'D' prospects myself. My vote is a dud now.

Interesting comparables. I think Tkachuk has more upside than a Kunitz. He's bigger, stronger and a better playmaker. In terms of size, strength and scoring a guy like Max Pacioretty might be a better comparable although I do think Tkachuk is a better playmaker than Paccioretty. Landeskog, Perry, Pacioretty are all closer comparables to me than Kunitz.

There should be no question who is number #1.
Goalies are voodoo, Gillies might develop into an NHLer, or he might be Leland Irving. Missing almost all of last season has to raise even more doubt in my mind. I think he will make it, and could see a good argument for him at #2 (though not on my list)...but no way is he #1.
Jankowski looked good last year, but he was a senior playing against younger guys, he needs to prove it for a bigger sample size against men before we elevate him into the top 5 even.
I like a lot of the D (in fact they might be 2 and 3 on my list) but no chance any of them can be ranked ahead of Tkachuk at this point.
Tkachuk may not make it either, but I don't see how any reasonable fan can argue that his chances for success are lower than anyone else on this list.

A set of daily polls ranking players? Are you mad?
Tkachuk, then Janko, then Gillies, then Tuulola, then Hickey.

I'm glad you clarified the Discovery Channel version of Shark Week, because if it was the other version, prospect ranking every month would be a bit much.
(Also, I voted Tkachuk!)

IMO this is basically the only no-brainer selection to be made. It's Tkachuk. Frankly, I think Bingo can call it now and we can proceed to round two.

I appreciate the reasoning you've outlined. But the bolded con against Jankowski seems like it would apply to Tkachuk even more.

Actually I was going to vote for that Tkachook kid everyone talks about but couldn't find him on the list... Bingo is clearly slipping.

I don't really see the similarities to Pacioretty. Stylistically I'd argue Pacioretty is more similar to Poirier than Tkachuk.
Perry, there are some definite stylistic similarities but I would be pleasantly surprised if the talent is at a comparable level (since... Perry is more big and strong relative to Tkachuk than Tkachuk is big or strong relative to Kunitz).
Landeskog yes. But Landeskog isn't as far from prime Kunitz as you're making it sound, other than being the more popular name due to being a high draft pick. Maybe Landeskog/Tkachuk are better playmakers than Kunitz, but ability-wise the three are more close than apart in my eyes. I see Tkachuk as possessing more of Kunitz' goal scoring repertoire that Landeskog lacks, plus as Kunitz has made a living being a perfect sidekick to Crosby, Tkachuk has until now spent all his time being a perfect sidekick to Matthews and Marner.

Jankowski was a 21 year old senior in a conference where the ages can range from 17 through to 25 but the average player age is 21. There are 21 year old freshmen in that league and Jankowski was still one of the younger players on his own team.

His high end potential trumps that....he has been dominant against his own age group...which is something that Jankowski can surely not claim.
I like Jankowski don't get me wrong, but no one in the hockey world projects him to be better than Tkachuk.

Cmon scorp one great development camp can't rocket E2 to #4 already can it? That seems a bit flavor of the week.

In my opinion, Tuulola established himself as the best Flames prospect at that camp, period. There was no-one better than him there, at all. Yeah, yeah, flavour of the week, but he's the real deal and I think he'll be a star in this league.
Just my takeaway, though.

Irony?
Voted for that Tkachuk guy. Hopefully the last high draft pick Flames have for a long time.
