Ack, sorry.
Hunter Smith still needs to work on his footspeed, but his shot is really good.
Hickey had a really good defensive play on a 2-on-1 where he blocked two straight passes from the passer (I think it was Janko). Really good play.
Sneaking suspicion Burke will get a contract, he's too good to ignore. Has some kind of hands.

Burke stepping around Andersson for one of those pretty development camp goals - McDonald didn't play it all that great.

And then Hickey did it again at the other end - broke up four 2 on 1 passes in about 30 seconds

Brayden Burke reminds me of Ryan Howse. Anyone remember him? Was our most promising prospect at one point.
Get the feeling he has the lazy gene. Complete skillset but have no idea why he wouldn't have a contract yet. must have to do with between the ears / fitness.

Andersson is gassed - not in good shape at all.
Hickey snuffed out Jankowski, was basically waiting for him at the blue line.
Round two Jankowski tries some between the legs stick handling and Hickey having none of it.

Janko just pulled a really nice move on Culkin.
Andersson looks horrible.

Nice hands by Jankowski - another not great sequence for Rasmus.

Wasn't Rasmus' conditioning an issue last year as well?
I hope the kid gets an earful from Ron Sutter and Dominic Pittis and works his ass off this summer so he's ready for main camp. He's too good to waste on poor conditioning.

A 3-on-0 drill. Or, as Caged Great put it, the "Oilers drill".

"A little bit lazy, a little bit unfit..." is the quote I recall about Andersson.

Wouldn't be the first prospect to not make the NHL due to conditioning issues. It can be fixed (probably the easiest thing to fix for a player), and I can't say whether he's progressed in that regard since last year, but to see it as a continuing issue for him is a little concerning.

Andersson's conditioning is the reason he dropped to late in the second round of the draft. Everyone loves his skill, they just don't know if he can keep up to the NHL pace.
He's still a work in progress. From his interviews, his face looks slimmer than last year, hopefully that's a good sign. He has acknowledged that it's what he has to work on, but it's still a lot of hard work to get there.

Rittich made a great pair of saves on Pollock - great extension and hung in there on the rebound.

Every single pass Jankowski makes dies on Hunter Smith's stick.

Caged Great really isn't the biggest fan of Rittich -- I'll let him explain that for himself -- and I agree with him, his positioning is poor, for sure. I think that may just be a product of him adjusting to the North American game.

Rasmus needs to get his conditioning in order.
More on Burke, maybe the guy is going at 110% because he's not here on a contract. His fitness doesn't seem to be top notch either. As far as I can tell, his skill is worth a contract. he's already better than half the guys in the system.

Janko is the real deal, Feaster was right. We'll for sure see him next year.
