I think this part of how management is managing expectations. They do not want to rush their prospects.

Any chance he gets 4 or 5 games at the beginning of the season and maybe bumps up for a few more after the ohl season?

No, I was asking why you think he gets sent down after 9 no matter what. Sounds like even if he looks great in those 9 you want him off the team.

Haven't seen Tkachuk yet. They're still in the dreadfully dull powerskating stage. This will all amp up soon, in about ten minutes' time.

I may have missed it, but has Tkachuk actually signed?

Oh, I meant more that he gets 9 at minimum. If he looks great I'm sure he could stay up. Either way, I'll get the chance to judge for myself.
Jankowski I'd like to know if he can be penciled in as a full timer.

Gotcha, yeah I agree. Hope they both make big pushes for NHL jobs.

This has always been Treliving's mantra - another year of development never hurt anyone - but there is certainly precedence to keep him up.
I think cap issues play a part also, as well as not rushing him. If Tkachuk plays with the Flames this year, he will be due a new contract while Frolik/Brouwer still have a year left.

All right, practice has started! A lot of people are on the ice -- Janko, Andersson, Kanzig, Smith, Culkin, Pollock, Hickey, Doucet, Gillies, Burke, Carroll, Ollas-Mattsson, Rittich, McDonald...

Yes, everything except foot speed.

Kravchenko isn't out there right now.
Ollas Mattsson doesn't have the greatest skating, for sure. He has a hard, good, (mostly) accurate breakout pass, though. He lacks quickness.

Matthew Phillips is exciting. A really good skater. Reminds me exactly of Gaudreau when I watched him in his first development camp in 2011. Will only find out in game situations if he can make guys miss as that's the most important part for a small guy to make it in the upper levels.

Phillips reminds me of Gaudreau so much. He may be my favourite prospect. He's so quick, and has really good hands.

Brandon Hickey is the best prospect we never talk about. Really polished player, I think he could step straight into the NHL after his next year is done.
Hunter Smith doesn't play well with the puck on his stick, shockingly.
