Yeah give some credit to the Oilers for pulling the trigger. Larsson and Lucic, if it happens, changes makeup of the team considerably. It's the kind of trade you can make when you have a super elite forward like McDavid.
Definitely shows how Hall is viewed around the league.

Honestly I would have thought about doing Hamilton for Hall.
Chiarelli probably wouldn't do that trade with Boston last year - and now gets a worse d-man.

And you can't undersell what a cancer to that team Hall was. He's been one of the biggest losers in NHL history from a winning percentage perspective, and he's just a dumb hockey player. They could have done more, especially if they did this two years ago, but they finally got it right that some of those guys just aren't ever going to contribute to the Oilers winning.

Hahaha, stupid Oilers, I think that's all that really needs to be said. Just a terrible asset management move. I like Larsson, I think he is one of the better defensive defensemen in the league. At the same time, Hall is a considerably better hockey player. Chia has now sold low on both Hall and Seguin, two players that should be cornerstone pieces.

Yeah as a Flames fan that is the best scenario. A huge bloated contract to Lucic than hangs like an anchor around their neck for years.
