Oilers did well here, painful as it is to say. Hall was a major part of the problem and now he's not. Right call even if Oiler fans will totally meltdown now.

If I was Vancouver, I would swoop in hard with Lucic over the next day and a half. I mean they're going to be terrible anyways, but can you imagine if they signed away Lucic, it would destroy Chia completely, and the benefit for the Canucks is that their fans wouldn't care about wins or losses for a year, because they %%%%%% the Oilers.

yep. Also don't get the reactions in here - they were always going to lose this trade. But moving on from Hall is absolutely the right call and personally I think Lucic+Larsson makes them a better hockey team. Not by much, but better.

I know the numbers say this is a bad trade for Edmonton, but Hall seems to have been identified by Chiarelli as part of the culture problem with that team.
I guess the problem is that he also identified Seguin as part of the problem in Boston.
