Is this the route? I just quickly threw it into Strava. I'm sure your start and end points are different but the meat of the ride should be captured there.

I was one of the course marshalls at the Giver6er yesterday. The new, yet to be named, trails at CNC are pretty sweet. Conditions are awesome.

The conditions couldn't have been more perfect on Saturday. Struggled a little on the climb, but really enjoyed it. Rode an out and back of just under 70km from McDonald Lake lodge. Got one flat on the descent. A crazy amount of bikes on it that day. Kids, old people, couples, one guy passed me pulling a Chariot with a kid in it and a small bike attached to it. Tons of snow at the top, still. The Logan pass visitor centre is still mostly buried.

over the weekend I tossed my clipless pedals back on my commuter and forgot what it felt like to be attached to the bike. increased my speed about 2 kph (i.e. spots where I would normally pedal at 28 kph I was able to do 30) for most of my ride.
Struggled at times to clip my foot back in cleanly. Will likely need a shoe upgrade next season to something a little more road oriented with cleaner soles. my current shoe has a bulkier softer rubber sole.

Damn, maybe I should be hitting you up for advice. Joining a club like that is in my 2 year plan. I'm working out hard to maybe have a shot someday.
On a totally different note, does anyone know where you can get the Wingate test done? The draft combine is one of the most interesting off-season events, imo. I'd like to know what it actually means for Keller to score a 14 on the spin bike test. I think it would interesting to do the test and gain an appreciation for how beastly these draft eligible kids are.

my first thought would be winsport, second would be talisman, third would be the flames camp - I doubt many places are set up to do this - but I could be wrong

I train out of a shop called TCR Sport Lab (down in Sunalta).
They do V02 Max testing, and I think they might be set up to do a wingate test as well (I could be wrong), but it's worth a call if you're really interested in it.

Have you tried Hell? I think they're set up for the Wingate test there...
(In fact, I'm pretty sure that's where it was invented...)

wow - 17 degrees (in the deep SE) at 6 am this morning.
my commute home takes me thru a couple of school zones - usually when I leave school is out and the area is quiet. yesterday I had to leave early and I felt like my life was in jeopardy as I rode thru the school zone as I got cut off three times. iven it was my first day back on clipless pedals, I was also a little nervous I was going to have the dreaded slow speed tip over crash because my brain would not let my foot turn to disengage from the pedal

I just took a pretty large spill over my handlebars. Was biking to work downtown and I've been riding harder lately. Then my chain snapped and went into ky back tire....
Damage is all in my hands, elbows, knees and ankle is sprained. Once I wrap my ankle, I need to walk my bike to get a new chain and a tune/check.
I'm t Sheldon Shumar, so I'm close to me, speed theory and other places. Any recommendation for reasonable price and service time?

ugh, what a crayy way to start the day TSXman. Hope you do not suffer too much longer term pain.
Other options that I can think of are MEC or the Bike Shop. I have no comment on wait time or level of service because I don't know.
If you could get your rig there as soon as they open, I would think it should increase your chances of getting it fixed by end of day.

Close to medical services too. I guess if you have to have a wreck you chose a good location to have one.

Thinking about Highwood Pass this weekend. Can anyone tell me anything about it - how badly is the elevation gain going to kill me?
