I've had some rims do that worse than others. I'm not sure there is much you can do about it.

in the picture it does not look normal to me. how does it compare to the other rim?

It's an old frame. I still like the v-brakes for simplicity, but finicky with any warp along the rim.
I didn't have any issues with the rear wheel so I didn't investigate. The front was constantly rubbing on the brake pad because the rim needed some truing and just noticed the seam when adjusting the spokes.

Anyone have an idea how the trails in Bragg are after a bit of rain? Looking at going tomorrow but I've only been out there when it's dry.

Avoid them. Riding when they're muddy just causes ruts and destroys the trails.

That is why a lot of singletrack is turning into rutted double track. Don't get me wrong I love to fat bike also but if the trails are wet they are wet and need time to dry out. Plus your drivetrain will take a beating on any bike you choose if you ride mud.

Spent this rainy, droopy Sunday lacing my first wheel!! I haven't put it on the truing stand yet or checked dish, but I'm pretty pleased with my first effort. After I finish doing my thing, I'll definitely take it down to the LBS that I bought the hoop and spokes from (had an XT hub just lying around) and have them go over it.
The drive side went well, but I became a little confused while doing the non-drive side (was doing 3x pattern).

decided that a rainy Saturday was a good day to swap out the seat on my Rocky Mountain with a chromatic moon saddle I bought from my neighbor.
Of course as I was tightening up the binder bolt, it stripped.....decided to combine a trip to Cyclepath with a ride, so I picked up a new bolt.....stopped at lowes on the way back and picked up a cap screw just for emergency purposes.
Need to go to the bolt district and pick up some m6 x 40 Allen bolts
