Still love The Ship even though it gets crazy busy every nice day. Broken City is my backup.

The new patio for the Cactus Club on Stephen Avenue looks like it will be a hotspot this summer.

Yeah I'm amazed they actually got approval to put that in there.

Earls on McLeod is lovely, it use to be busy, but should be good now.

The tiny upstairs porch/patio at the Hop Inn Brew is the best if you can snag it.

I really like the location and the views, great place for drinks. Was super disappointed with the food though.

x2 for Brewsters rooftop patio in McKenzie if you're looking down south.

It's huge, it has a bar and washrooms upstairs and they have couches too.

As for the view, I prefer to look at the Sobeys parking lot vs. Hobo's taking a piss and then fighting each other.

As for my favorite, National on 8th and their rooftop patio. Same idea as Brewsters but it turns into bit of club on weekends and the view is awesome since you can't see the peeing hobos.

The Ship is by far the best patio atmosphere in the city given it's location. Of course, it's also the first one to fill up. Some other favourites of mine:

- Rose and Crown - You get the atmosphere of 17th without the homeless people harassing you. Less busy than other options as most people think to go to the Ship or National first. Good beer selection.
- Molly Malone's - Quieter than 17th but you still get a good atmosphere. A big downside is a lack of sun given the neighbouring buildings but in the heat that's not necessarily a bad thing. Also I find that when busy the service is really bad.
- The Pint - Nice view from the roof top.
- Loco Lou's - Massive amounts of sun throughout the day. Good food. Different atmosphere given that it's a college bar.

Of course, currently my favourite patio is in my backyard. Cheap beer, lots of sun, everyone that is there I like.

For the deep SE, Brewsters and Tommyfield have decent rooftop patios (view notwithstanding).

There's a Canadian Brewhouse coming this fall too. They usually have good Patios. The one in the north even has a good view despite being in suburbia.

Best patio in the city might be Gateway at SAIT - great view of downtown. It is not open much in the summer though?

Check out the mountain view from the new location of the Longview Steakhouse (click through to find it):

Almost forgot - Broken City has a great patio too. And the Palomino!
