Much, much better. Some of the seemingly mundane set-ups had payoffs, and, of course, Jon is back!

Generally, Tyrion and Varys make Mereen tolerable, but tonight those scenes were thoroughly entertaining and interesting.

We finally re-visit the Iron Islands after what, 2 seasons? And the king is dead? Things are already convoluted, so why not add another claim to the throne?

Bran travelling through time is pretty cool. Can't wait to see where that leads, and what that reveals.

Ramsay killing Roose was totally out of the blue. I mean, I knew that little ####er would be trying something given that his father had produced a new heir.

I'm really glad they're not going to drag out the Arya as beggar thing. That was already boring.

Just when I thought I couldn't hate Ramsay any more.... That episode happened. My wife went all 3 year old and closed her eyes and plugged her ears to avoid the kennel scene.

See that's the problem with them overdoing the sadism in the past. Ramsay's scenes really had no effect on me emotionally. I was fully expecting him to just toss the baby in the fire when he was holding it.

All the shock is gone.

But he didn't do that. So you lose.

No, he just did the expected action using another method.

Well if he didn't you'd be whining that his actions weren't in character, or some other crying game.

Yeah maybe. Not sure why you're so sensitive about it.

I said it wasn't shocking because it's expected as a result of his character and past portrayal ... where is the problem here?

For me, I knew that POS was going to do something horrific. He didn't disappoint. Even so, knowing his nature, didn't diminish my enhanced hatred of the character.

They remained consistent, and even though they didn't shock me I appreciate that consistency. ####s Ramsay.

I mean he's a little ####, but he killed a big #### ... so it just kind of evens out

I actually dislike Roose a lot more than Ramsay. Ramsay is a monster, but he's a monster outright. Roose had the betrayal of the Starks, so I hate him more

As awesome as that final scene was and most everything else about the episode, nothing could have topped Wun Wun hulk-smashing that guy with the crossbow
