I'm not talking about the Flames specifically. Just a random team. He said there's no difference after the top 3 because the next 20 are interchangeable. I disagree. I'd much rather keep #4 than trade down to 24

I don't believe that is true.
Datsyuk is listed at 5'11, 194.
We'll have to wait for the combine for the official #'s on Keller but I'm pretty sure his 5'10 170lbs is generous. 5'9 seems about right. He looks like a little kid out there right now

You mean especially when compared against your click bait site? Fact of the matter is MacKenzie's list is no more accurate than following CSS or McKeen's, but is THE list for all basement bloggers to base their rankings from. That is what annoys me the most about the draft preview garbage. It is a rehash of CSS or MacKenzie's list, rather than an honest review of players and their performance. How about an honest viewing and review of the players. I find it impossible to believe that you, or your supposed scouting representatives, can sit in an arena and be impressed by the same exact same players, where professional scouts can sit in the same arena and come away impressed by a variance of players. This is one of the reasons why I hate this part of the season more than any other. The basement bloggers and the Edmonton Oilers have ruined the draft for people that actually watch the games and give a #### about hockey beyond the NHL.

Puljujärvi got a big slash to the wrist in the final seconds of the FIN-USA game. Some claim to have heard/seen him say "this broke". (In Finnish obviously.) Might not see him in the final.

An okay but unspectacular game from Puljujärvi mostly, would have expected him to drive the offense more. Flashed his skill with a great pass that lead to the GWG. Player of the game was Aapeli Räsänen who scored 2-1 (SH) and 3-2 (PP, GWG) goals for Finland. (And assisted on Puljujärvi's empty netter.)

For some reason I was more excited about last year's picks in our 15th overall range than I'm excited about our pick in the 6th overall range this year. And then of course we didn't even use the pick last year (no complaints about Hamilton though).

I guess it's because I'll be kinda bummed if the Flames don't luck out and get the top 3 lottery picks this year - aka up to this point, the absolute upper tier players. It's that feeling of "so close yet so far".

Help! Someone help me get excited about the players outside Matlainejarvi.

Well Chychrun and Nylander are facing off in 5 minutes. Two guys who might be in our wheelhouse if we're picking 6/7

Wow. There is just so much vitriol and ignorance in this post. Did you proof-read it before posting, or do you gladly stir the pot and ****post just to rile people up?

Commandant doesn't have to come here and post his and his teams findings and thoughts. You don't have to read them. Move on. Guys like Commandant aren't "ruining" the draft.

FWIW, I like Commandants work. Between him and FC, it gives us a lot of insight compared to posters such as myself that might see a few games a year and offer limited opinions.

Jost with an assist on Chychrun's goal.

With 15 points, Jost passes McDavid as the highest scoring Canadian ever at the u18s

So what exactly is the knock on Jost other than BCHL quality of competition? Because it looks like he totally wiped that one off the list with this U18 performance...

That's pretty much it.

Just like with Hickey and why he fell to us in the 3rd round. If he was in the normal junior leagues, Hickey likely would have been a 1st rounder.

Jost is likely rated lower for that simple reason.

Keller looks ~5'10 to me, and I'm sure there's room to fill out to around 180.

That's pretty much Datsyuk size. Pavel Datsyuk was probably never 5'11 / 194 that's classic fudging.

If Flames end up at 7 then I think Jost may be the way to go.

The Toews comparisons are starting to make sense.

Jost has not had to ride the bus as much as a CHL prospect, that is a compelling reason to drop in the draft.
