Don't forget about the Cap'n writing a 3000 word essay on how this may or may not tie into the EU and lore of Star Wars in general. Complete with dialogue excerpts.
Nah, I was told that people don't like that.

Looks good, definitely a 'shut up and take my money' movie.
If I've learned anything from Star Wars its that we should find every British person we can and kill them. They cause a disproportionate amount of Galactic Strife per capita.
Also the accents are beginning to get annoying.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I think there should be a general Star Wars thread where you can go off on stuff like that without cluttering the main thread. I've personally never minded it, especially since you often have really good insights into theories due to your vast knowledge. Stuff that most of us wouldn't put together.
I can see how some people might find it bogs down movie threads since they are usually used for news and fanboy nerdgasms.
And we will all drag our wives or girlfriends to see it because "remember that one time we watched Pride and Prejudice on Netflix, so you owe me." Man, these marketing guys are good.
I'm still holding the massive titanic card with one girl that I know.
I was thinking of the two villains.
I just have trouble seeing Tarkin wearing a cape, it just doesn't seem like him, he always came across as a guy that was more substance and military

If the discussion is relative to the thread I don't understand why there is a problem with how long the post is. If people don't like it, don't read it. Wow that was hard! If you can tie your own shoes, you can figure that out.
It isn't a spoiler or anything bad, it's theorycrafting and some of us enjoy it. There is SO MUCH CONTENT out there involving Star Wars and it can be tough to remember what is canon and what isn't, I like to try and connect the dots.

Going to spoiler this picture even though it is just speculation but..
Internetters have claimed that they can identify the pilots in the film based on helmet art:
Spoiler!

I think it's really silly when people make posts like this.
It looks like a good movie, and people want to see it.
Of course they are making it so they can make money, that's why EVERY movie ever made has been released.
God forbid a company give people what they want in an attempt to make money.

No kidding. It's not like this is a Honey Boo Boo movie or something. It's freaking Star Wars. A cultural phenomenon. I don't care if the stories aren't all completely unique. They take place in a wholly original universe.
Star Wars is awesome. More Star Wars, even bad Star Wars, is better than no Star Wars.

Yes, and while not very good, without them you wouldn't have Duel of Fates, Anakin vs Obi-Wan, Palpatine, etc..
There is a lot wrong with the prequels, but it's still Star Wars.
They also helped reinvigorate a franchise for young kids who had no connection to Star Wars in their actual lives. We had the movies growing up, and loved them, but as someone who was 12 when TPM came out, I didn't care about how annoying Jar Jar was, or midichlorines, or whatever thing I find stupid now as an adult. I saw young Obi-Wan fighting awesome lightsabre battles, young Darth Vader, an awesome enemy in Maul.
All the cinematic/story/acting issues didn't matter to a kid. After seeing it we were at home sword fighting in the yard, filming ourselves, we had a nerdy naeighbor who would make our sticks look like legit lightsabres. I don't like the majority of the prequels, but as a kid, it brought me into the Star Wars universe in a way the originals couldn't because it wasn't the same watching it on VHS at home vs seeing it on the big screen.
