I have to wonder who the hooded figure is in black that's kneeling, that's not Vader.
With the Royal Guards positioned in the room I guess we should expect it to be someone important? What is he kneeling in front of though? Some type of transport or hibernation chamber?
And couldn't that be Tarkin? The timeline fits with his age no?
Just noticed something cool, Mr. Miyagi at 1:13 is pretending to be blind as he walks into the middle of those Storm Troopers with his stick, then lays the beat down.

This is a 'one off' canon movie meant to supplement existing material and I am guessing tie in maybe Rebels or give some new back story that will help flesh out the new trilogy.
They are doing a few more, one of which will be a Han Solo origin movie.

I was thinking with the Imperial Guard there, it was a direct communication to the Emperor.

And the same could be said about Ant-Man, or Dr. Strange or any comic book movie? Except BvS, lol.
It's a movie based in a very popular universe where fans are craving additional content, they get our money and we get more canon.

And we will all drag our wives or girlfriends to see it because "remember that one time we watched Pride and Prejudice on Netflix, so you owe me." Man, these marketing guys are good.
Just need to get CorsiHockeyLeague in here and we'll complete the collection.
Don't forget about the Cap'n writing a 3000 word essay on how this may or may not tie into the EU and lore of Star Wars in general. Complete with dialogue excerpts.

The protagonist seems to have the right personality. The rebels were a little too much of the goody-good variety in the OTs to really be called "Rebels", except Solo of course. So it's cool to have a team of badasses come in.
I don't think Vader will be the main antagonist because we'd already know what happens to him. Though I bet he takes part in one of the battles at least. Betting they bring in a new villain. Hopefully the likes of one we haven't seen before.
I'll watch just for some star destroyers floating through space and the DS blowing up a planet or two. For nostalgia's sake. For the love of god I hope this story is totally original though, and I hope it brings some new elements to the universe, rather than just rehash things we've already seen before.
Well the Death Star didn't fire on a planet until Alderaan no?
Maybe it blew up some backwaters prior, but canon makes it seem like it didn't.

Governor Tarkin: Princess Leia, before your execution, I'd like you to join me for a ceremony that will make this battle station operational. No star system will dare oppose the Emperor now.
