And purposely killed like ten people in the Tim Burton ones. And tried to machine gun down the Joker. But I guess that was pre-Internet outrage days.
I've always thought that Batman's so called I don't kill people moral code was a big lie to cover up the fact that the guy was a mass murderer. He didn't go around directly shooting people in the face with a bat gun, but he certainly has a lot of blood on his hands where his actions have killed people that were innocent and otherwise.
Cracked did a great article on the crimes of Superman and Batman
I saw this one the weekend and pretty much agree with the majority of reviews I've read. It was not good.
There were some definite positives though. Ben Affleck's Batman was great. Loved his Batman voice and his fight scenes were practically ripped straight out of the Arkham series. Wasn't a fan of him killing people but whatever.
I was also pleasantly surprised with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. However, her presence in this movie was not needed. I will fully admit to not being much of a DC guy. Outside of Batman I am not interested in a single DC character. That being said, I thought WW was great and I am looking forward to her solo film.
Unfortunately, this film didn't work for me. It was so disjointed and so bogged down with extraneous content that I had a hard time getting into the film. We really didn't need to see the deaths of Bruce's parents again.
I thought the dream sequence was very cool but entirely unnecessary. I liked seeing a Batman that was pushed over the line and Superman looked like a badass killing those guys but the sequence didn't feel important to the story.
The Lois Lane plot was terrible. I have no idea why she was given so much screen time.
Eisenberg was awful. I like the guy as an actor but that was a horrible Lex Luthor.
The Justice League "tease" was bad. The first reveal would have been fine. Having WW sit down and watch each video was stupid and felt out of place. The entire thing felt like DC's shortcut to the Justice League movie.
I'm starting to think that I've been really close minded about this whole thing.
I've been of the opinion that Zack Snyder is a bit of a twit, and representative of 'that guy in the office who is really good at filling out forms', but is it possible that he's playing a grand game that surpasses all of my myopic projections?
Maybe he's constructing a universe of a 'team' of sociopathic monsters, rambling from city to city killing at will, mindless and uncaring in their destruction. Batman at the beginning of the film is angry that Superman is killing at such a high level, that he must find a way to again be the top killer in this universe.
From movie to movie, the slaughter becomes more personal and grotesque, until all of the world's beloved heroes are torn from our childhood memories, and all that is left behind is a hollow cavern of sadness and hate.
Now that's some deep Snyder storytelling. Weak plots and execution aside, of course.

What a mess of a movie. Zero cohesion to the plot, jumping from character to character randomly, a dream sequence that did nothing for the movie other than confuse viewers, further butchering of the source characters (Batman is just a high tech Punisher in this). Jesus Snyder is terrible at telling a story, BvS is almost like a superhero version of Sucker Punch, a vehicle to deliver cool visuals with nothing underneath to make anyone care
Civil War is going to look like Citizen Kane next to this
I laughed when little Bruce was being ascended by a circling group of Bats like an angel. It ended up being a dream sequence but holy, how corny was that.
The movie was fairly joyless too, one or two attempts at laughs but nothing interesting. Thought Wonder Woman was actually decent, the smirk she gave when Doomsday smashed her across the screen was good, a bit of a "I love a good fight" moment.
Superman is so lame though, so lame.
Didn't like Afleck's Batman as much as others. He should just direct some of these, not star.
Finally saw it. I think the internets sent me in with such low expectations that I actually enjoyed it. It definitely drags a bit near the end and can be a bit of a mess at times, but agreed there's pieces of a good movie in there.
I actually really liked the angle they took on a flawed Superman, usually movies stick to the classic "boy scout" persona so it was a refreshing take. And the veteran Batman was enjoyable as well. I thought the Wonder Woman character was well done too, although she felt a bit shoehorned in at times. Hell, I even liked Eisenberg's Luthor.
I have to disagree with most in the sense I liked how they tried to make this one darker and gritty, I'm not a big fan of your average (Marvel) one-liner filled, borderline action/comedy genre superhero movie these days. They didn't always stick to it, and totally agreed it got too "epic/operatic" at times. But I liked the tone he was going for anyway. I give the movie a 6.5/10.
Forgot to add: Considering I own all the comics from when Superman/Doomsday "kill" each other all the way up to Supe's return, I was nerding out hard when Doomsday came out. Totally agreed he also felt shoehorned, and yeah, how he was created draws some...questions. But just from a childhood nostalgic aspect, I liked it. Really hope he's not actually dead though, considering in the comics, he physically cannot be killed.
I can tell it's been a LONG time since I read them, as when Doomsday first came out, I was thinking "isn't be supposed to be covered in exposed bones??", then whenever a limb got cut off and grew back with bone, I was like, "ohhhh, right.." Hoping a see him again.

Wonder Woman wasn't necessary in this film except for two things.
First, this movie seemed to be about setting up the DC universe, and specifically their version of the Avengers, which is why all the characters got unnecessary mentions. The second reason is that she served as fanservice for this flick. Even so, I agree. I'm far more interested in the Wonder Woman movie than I was before.
Poor movie overall, but we'll see what the extended universe films end up doing. Jeremy Irons just isn't Alfred. Kevin Costner got old.
That was alright. I'm a huge Smallville fan and I think they absolutely nailed the portrayal of Luthor. Eisenberg acts the same way in every movie and he almost ruined this one for me...his performance in the jail cell was unintentionally (I think?) hilarious.
I guess I'm one of the few that didn't like Affleck, and I really wanted to. I thought he mailed it in big time. The only emotions I detected were boredom and contempt.
Lois Lane was a waste of time. Wonder Woman was interesting, but they couldn't delve enough into her character in an already-bloated film.
Sorry to bring up Smallville again, but Tom Welling did a pretty good job of being the awkward journalist. I like Cavill in the Superman role but his Kent leaves something to be desired...also he and Amy Adams have as much chemistry as water and oil.

Ya his Kent just reminds me of his Superman, I didn't see a difference in character at all. He needs to work on that. Cavill admitted that this isn't the Superman or Kent he wants to get to yet, but how do you re work your alter ego now that he has met everyone?
I hope we see zero Lois Lane in Justice League, she is a major player in any Superman story line but now things are bigger than her. Let Amy Adams take this one off. And one quick look at IMDB reveals she is in it, awesome. Can she please just have a one line cameo.

Given that the Flash comes back in time to warn Batman that Lois is the key, I doubt it. I assume that warning is for a future movie not this one, because it makes no sense to warn Batman about Lois in the Batman v Superman plot.
It's important that in the justice League movie that Lois somehow finds the 'pebble of destiny', that fell to earth randomly on a Thursday. It will land roughly two feet from her. She will then run through three kilometres of battling super people to give the pebble to aquaman, the only person who is deathly allergic to pebbles.
This will all be shot in slow motion, and no motivation will be given for the existence of the pebble, or why Lois is there at all.

fyp.
Ya I forgot about the Flash part. I try to block that nonsensical part of the movie out.

Clearly Flash is warning Batman that she becomes the next hitler and needs to be killed asap.
That had to be a hint at the injustice storyline - although since they can't pull off a simple story in the DC Movie Universe I'm not sure how they can pull off a convoluted multi dimensional timeline with an evil Superman.
Warner Bros. is moving forward with a standalone Batman film with Affleck at the helm — if studio head Kevin Tsujihara is to be believed.
During his opening remarks at the Warners' presentation at Cinemacon, Tsujihara said the studio was excited to be going ahead with the film, which has long been rumored but never confirmed — as well as an Aquaman movie by James Wan.
Affleck hinted at the project — if obliquely — during a press conference last month for Batman v Superman, acknowledging that he'd learned a lot from director Zack Snyder during the making of the film.
But on Monday, he took the CinemaCon stage with all mystery blown to smithereens.
"It's been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we're looking forward to working on Justice League," said Affleck, who appeared with BvS co-star Amy Adams shortly after Tsujihara's remarks.
