People talk about Cervenka experiment being a bust, but he was buried in the lineup, hadn't yet adjusted to the north american game, and fought off blood clots..yet still put up 0.5ppg. He'd probably be translate to a 50 point offensive winger if he had stuck it out over here.

Problem is he didn't like his experience clearly and ran home instead.

There are tons of scouting reports, but keep in mind they are 3 or more years old, a lot of people stopped following him when the Canadiens lost his rights.

He is a finesse player. Says he likes to model his game after Hemsky and Lemieux. Also said if he could choose he would prefer to be drafted by Edmonton or Pittsburgh (likely because of his role models) in his draft year.

Sounds like he can blow past defenders, but his first few steps needs work and his edge work isn't good and he falls down sometimes. He's also said to be soft along the boards, either due to laziness or lack of strength.

But he's creative with the puck and has nice hands. Who knows, maybe he's worked on his weaknesses since these reports?

I'm always so leery of euro highlight reels. I remember those Gustafson "Monster" packages.

Yes I think everyone realizes highlight reels aren't the best way to evaluate or project potential NHL players.

But wow that is a nice goal. If he can get that skill to translate onto NHL ice against NHL players...

You can see why NHL teams want to give him a shot.

I'm not saying don't bring him in. I'd like to see him.

Is he the best forward not in the NHL?

Would be very interesting of the Flames can add Pribyl and then move up to #2 or #3 and grab one of the big Finns. All of a sudden the lack of size and skill on the RW doesn't seem like such a problem.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Pribyl
Shinkaruk-Bennett-Laine/Pulhardtospell
Colborne-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan/Grant-Jooris/Poirier

Some pretty good beef there and some really good skill throughout the lineup.

I know a guy who got a Cervenka Flames jersey. Unless you tell me that you know of another person who has one as well, the dude is 1 out of 1 in this City.

I have 2 friends that have them, one thinks he's funny. The other is a Czech and was overly excited about him joining the team.

First goal was a beauty, but a little too toe-draggy for the NHL (but good for Edmonton's job spec when looking for top 6 forwards).

It is the 2nd goal that is NHL calibre. In the slot, tight area, drifts into a little open space at right moment and gets a great shot off quickly.

Is there some kind of timeline where we can expect a signing announcement?

Seems to have some skill, but from those limited highlights, I am not so sure of the quality of the league. Any thoughts on how the Czech league stacks up?
Having said that, assuming this is where we picked up Nakladal, it is well worth the risk. Nakladal really looks good to me.

He can't officially sign until his team's season is over.

His team is in the semifinals about to play the 3rd game of the 7 game series which is tied 1-1.

Additionally if he is named to the Czech team for the World Championship, he can't sign until the Czechs are done.

I liked NE's post due to the Gall. Not in an mocking way but I like the cut of that line up immensely.

If Pribyl signs with the flames, he will have a good opportunity at a top 9 role immediately. who knows, perhaps he gels with JBG and Moneyhands? or Bennet, or Jank? He's an unknown till we get him on the small ice. RC was a talented player but didn't he leave he family back in CR? Then he underwent with aplomb, the health problems and never being in full shape with a good headspace. I think his intuition and disconnect from his young family was too much. He made good cake in the K and he didn't need to worry about the immigration issues she was facing, if my facts are right.

I think treliving has done an admirable job his first 2 years despite the polarizing results. This signing could be a real coup. Look at panarin's impact? sure he plays with Kaner, but I, as many do, feel that the flames are close to a Hawks like possession team. We all crave that as flames fans. Those Hawks teams did a good job of remaining competitive and hitting on their high picks while being a tough opponent;i recall them and trent yawney giving us real headaches as bottom dwellers.

Treliving knows what went wrong and broke the spirit of this team ie the anomalous goaltending and the size mismatch we were exposed as small inmate large inmate dominated by anaheim. This line up looks good that NE suggested. Yet, Pribyl isn't the real prize IMO, it's getting up to the top 3. All three of them compliment the flames, further and faster. So how does treliving do it? he does it and he's the 3 year debut i've seen as the most memorable as my time as a flames fan.

Pribyl does intrigue me. Anything with decent pro measurables, wheels, and some hands is welcome on this team. StL, Anaheim, LA and Chicago are the best teams going in the west and they over the last few years with Dallas, Nash, and SJ makin noise. They aren't going away and they all are adding pieces. SJ looks vulnerable later, as does LA a tad if they don't draft well but Lucic was a good move by Lombardi.

Then if this teams does what New Era feels, wow, we could be caught up real quick. with a stronger older bennet, who goes full warpath on any post or cross bar. And Jank in the pipeline is only gonna reinforce this team.

Sorry for the lengthy post but it's been a while and it's almost draft lottery time and I finally feel that the work ethic skill elements are aligning for this team, so with a few good moves over the next 2 seasons, we could be looking at a powerhouse.

coles notes: size is good, get a top 3 pick, gillies goes gigantic, go flames.

Better production quality than Sportsnet.

On another note.. Damn, Daniel.
