Do you guys think Dubois is NHL ready? I think he'd need one more year, but I haven't seen him play so who knows

I think he will be ready for the NHL next year. Start him off as a 3rd liner and move him up accordingly, but he has the speed and size to fit in, and has the IQ to make him liked by the coach. He already plays a JUNIOR 200ft game, but a 200ft game nonetheless. Will need to be sheltered, but I think he will very much be NHL ready next year.

That seems really unlikely. Since 1990 there have really only been two top-3 picks who didn't turn into 'NHL regulars': Alexaner Svitov in 2001 (179gp), and Jonathan Drouin (2013) and I think it's waaaayyyy to early to make any definitive statements about Drouin's career. (though he's easily the biggest mistake in my very bad career as a Keeper-fantasy GM). Cam Barker (2004, 310gp) and Rick DiPietro (2000, 318gp) could be argued to be included, but 300 games played puts you well into the top third of all-time NHLers for games played.
Going back to the 90's, there are even fewer real 'misses.' Even famous busts like Stefan and Falloon played 450+ games. There are plenty of guys who didn't become superstars, like Aki-Petteri Berg and Bryan Berard in 1995, but they both played more than 600 games in their careers.
While I have a gut feeling that the Finns aren't going to play - or at least start - next season in the NHL, I think it's extremely unlikely they don't turn into NHL regulars.

No major change in our expected finish. Still projecting into that 5th-6th last spot with Winnipeg. Only notable change from last time is that with fewer games remaining the odds of the 9th or 10th pick have dropped off pretty strongly. We're looking pretty solid in that 1-8 range.
(Draft pick odds using Enoch Root's standings-pick percentages combined with sportsclubstats.com's final standings probabilities as of today)

Puljujarvi and Laine will now face each other in the Finnish playoffs. The loser may go to the U-18s if healthy.

Thats the insane part of the wonder Finns. They're not heading to the world championship after their playoffs are over, they're still young enough for U-18's!

The U18s end on April 24, and the World's start on May 6, so there's a chance that the kid could play in both.
I wonder if anyone has ever played in the World Championship, the World Juniors, and the U18s all in the same season?

If we are sharing draft dreams, I had one where the Flames won the draft lottery with PHX winning second. Flames traded the 1st for Domi, the second overall, and 2nd rounder from PHX. Flames drafted Laine.

Have you watched Nylander this calender year? He has like 3 goals in 2016. He's struggling right now big time

“The spread isn’t large, but Matthews is a notch above (everyone else),” said Dan Marr, the director of Central Scouting for the NHL.
“We think the top three have clearly separated themselves,” said Dennis MacInnis, the chief scout of Independent Scouting Service. “There’s a clear break after those top three (Matthews, Puljujarvi and Laine) down to the next tier, which runs about a dozen deep — from No. 4 to No. 16.”
There’s weakness at the bottom of the draft, from about the 75th pick on, but that’s the least of the concerns for teams jockeying for the high picks. The team that finishes last has a 20 per cent chance of selecting first, the best odds possible. Of course, that also means the team has an 80 per cent chance of picking somewhere else.
With the second and third overall picks also subject to the lottery, it means a team could potentially draft three spots from its position in the standings when the season ends. So strength at the top of the draft — i.e. the consolation prizes for those who see their hopes of drafting Matthews dashed — is particularly important for rebuilding teams.
“The first round is deep,” Marr said. “The first 10, 12 players are really good. Your top 50 players are pretty good prospects. They are legitimate NHL prospects.”
The Star canvassed four influential talent evaluators — Marr, MacInnis, Mark Seidel of North American Central Scouting, and retired scouting legend Jack Ferguson — for their opinions on the players at the top of the draft.
Without question, Matthews is the “it” player in the NHL draft. He fit right in playing in the men’s league in Switzerland, where he set a precedent in being a North American teenager playing overseas in his draft year. He was the captain of the American team at the world junior tournament in December and he was named to the U.S. team for the world championship in May.
“He’s lived up to expectations,” Marr said. “We all know he’s the real deal.”
If Matthews had been eligible for the draft last year, most believe he would have gone third behind Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel. So who does he compare to now?
“He’s every bit the player Nathan MacKinnon is,” said Marr, comparing Matthews to the top pick in 2013. “He’s going to be like the Seguins and the Halls and the MacKinnons, a top player that is going to impact sooner rather than later, like he proved he could this year. He’s been on that path.”
Matthews could also be a poster boy of another sort, the first player from commissioner Gary Bettman’s Sunbelt strategy to go first in the overall draft. The Arizona Coyotes would love to have a chance to draft the native of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Article compares Puljujarvi to Malkin. The ISS guy claims Puljujarvi has the tools to play center which might make him more valuable.

I have watched Nylander most likely a lot more than you have. Kid is going to be an absolute offensive star.

If the Flames sit on all of their 2nd round picks do they roll the dice on one of them and select DeBrincat? Another small guy but with a huge skillset. The Flames need to get bigger and tougher to play against, but his scoring ability is pretty impressive. In a weaker draft like this it might be worth it to take a swing for the fences when you have the extra picks.

Meh you have season tickets to Knights, I have for Spits. So unless your watching Miss games for some reason it's probably pretty close?
Anyways I see a complimentary player whose only elite skill is his shot, and when that isn't going he will slump, as we saw the last couple months up until tonight. He certainly doesn't drive offence like his brother.
So agree to disagree.
What in his game do you see that makes you think he is a future "star"? Also what other players do you think will become stars for reference sake?

Now, when you say getting hot, do you mean the one game he's played and had a big night?

I acknowledged his game in my original post, hence why I said "until tonight".

I'll be very very happy with Nylander as a selection. Even if he ends up being a #2 RW I imagine a line of Shinkaruk-Bennett-Nylander to have all the right tools to be an elite line.
